Bridgnorth is an attractive town with lots of good places to eat and drink. Both of those are excellent at the flower-bedecked Old Castle Inn - well worth a visit. Check out what's on at the Theatre On The Steps. The Majestic cinema is one of those old independents with a range of up to date films.

Bridgenorth is a beautiful Shropshire town that retains a quaint charm with modern amenities. The Severn Valley Railway (main reason for our visit) that runs from Bridgenorth to Kidderminster cannot be faulted - staff, amenities and rolling stock. The views from Castle Hill over the river are amazing. It is a haven of tranquillity just the right distance from urban centres like Shrewsbury and Kidderminster. A place to relax and recharge.

Bridgnorth was very interesting, the park and castle are worth a visit. Cinema round the corner from property made a cool retreat for an afternoon during the hot weather. Many good restaurants within walking distance, and Sainsbury’s over the road if eating at home. The Severn Heritage Railway is also within walking distance for an interesting day out.

Husband likes to fish on the river and I like to wonder round the town, castle gardens and the churches. Oh and have tea and cake in Violet's tearoom. Have a ride on the funicular railway. Find it a lovely friendly place to visit for a short break.

Bridgenorth is a lovely riverside town on two levels with a cliff railway or lots of steps. The main attraction for me is the Severn Valley Railway which was the reason for my stay. The historic town or Ironbridge with all its museums is close by and also well worth a visit.

Bridgnorth is a very friendly town with lots of interesting individual shops, a superb range of pubs, and of course the magnificent Severn Valley Railway. It also hosts the English Haydn festival which includes wonderful concerts of beautiful 18th-century music performed by an enthusiastic group of young musicians. I would recommend the ancient Shakespeare Inn which is full of character with a quaint courtyard, lovely staff and a tempting range of beers. We also enjoyed Millie’s place for second breakfasts. I stayed at the Croft Hotel, which is really comfortable, and in an excellent location.

Excellent location. Right in the town centre. Very well presented everything we needed...only thing we cos fault was nothing to use other than a poker for the fire which we did light. But that is just a minor issue.....overall we were very happy and would definitely be more than happy to book this cottage again...x

We loved staying in such a quirky ancient building, so bound up in the history of Bridgnorth. The location is special being on the Severn and close to the High Town, an easy walk away either up the Cart Way or the steps alongside the funicular railway.
