ideal location for relaxation for the family. all three...

ideal location for relaxation for the family. all three beaches (both tenby & porthcawl - just 1 hr away) and the local burry port beach - were good locations for children to play). Stunning breath taking sights and views on top of the hill behind the house (drive/climb). Climbing the hill was very good exercise for the lungs. Retired horses and cows come down the hill at the back of the house for grazing. hot water tub was a very good tonic for the body muscles and provided a good massage with the jets whilst enjoying the stars (on a clear evening). The whole area radiated calmness and provided a greater sense of relaxation for everyone in the family. this was 1st time we all felt really relaxed in our bodies/minds during the last 6-7 years of holidaying. Comes highly recommended.

My husband was born and brought up in Burry Port so we knew the town. It had obviously changed since we were last there but a suitable place for sailors with small boats. The weather was rainy so we didn't go to the beach. There is a lifeboat station. There was a popular cafe serving very good meals by the marina. There were plenty of places to eat during the day and at night, and also fish and chip shops and a take-away. There is a train station with trains going to and from Swansea, Llanelli and Carmarthen and a regular bus service. There was a car park near the harbour but in the town there was no car park but parking was allowed on the streets. The main streets were wide enough to allow parking on both sides,

Burry Port has a great history.

Burry Port has a great history. The beach is very close and the views are fantastic. The Gower is wondrous! Went to nearby Pembrey beach too, absolutely amazing. Stopped for a coffee at Crazie Crepes, great location. Everything is walkable and lots of shops for supplied. Walking is fantastic but also plenty of historic sites to visit and a brand new leisure centre in Llanelli. Everybody so friendly, would definitely recommend.

We fell in love with Burry Port last year when we stayed to locate a future area to retire to, we had never heard of Burry Port before and instantly fell in love with it and the surrounding area, Pembrey Park is also nearby and is a must to visit. The coast path runs through Burry Port and is used by cyclists runners and walkers alike. Burry Port also has a train station which runs through to Bristol. Also Amelia Earhart landed in Burry Port harbour, first woman to fly across the Atlantic. Well worth a visit. We are now moving to retire nearby so Burry Port will be on our doorstep.

Lovely walks along the beach.

Lovely walks along the beach. Jenkins the bakery is wonderful. So clean and all the food looks and is delicious. A new CoOp, which is also clean and well stocked. Great fish and chip shops too. Highly recommend the Ship Aground in nearby Pembrey for a generous and delicious Sunday lunch.

Very basic small port town.

Very basic small port town. Plenty of trains going through North & South and to Manchester Airport. Very nice harbour area with a bit of history abd many yacts berthed. Emelia Erhardt landed there. UK's oldest (non operating) metal lighthouse. First Electroplating company/business founded there mid 1800's whose owners funded buildings churches and schools. Air Force base practices landings on the beach. Very nice walking areas opposite town. Went to a Pub out of town to eat.

ideal situation if coming by train. Given that the hotel is unstaffed, the key box system for getting into the room is sensible. We stayed in room 1, which is spacious and has what you need. The fresh milk in the fridge was appreciated to go with the tea and coffee provided. The bathroom worked well. Fans provided for the hot weather. All this was good value considering it is about £100 per night in a room that fits three (although we were only two in the end).

Had a fab stay at Burry Port Harbour self catering apartment, which felt like home from home but with the added benefit of being a couple of minutes walk from the beach. All rooms were on one upstairs level and the layout was excellent. The kitchen was well equipped. Was nice to have the option of shower and bath. Smart TV and wifi worked well. Chris was an excellent host and provided all the info we needed. Thank you!

Lounge and kitchen modern and spacious. Nice decor and throws on beds and sofas. Lovely little patio for my husband to smoke! Great views of the sea, 2 nice pubs very near (less than a minute's walk!) Was visiting Wales for a wedding, so Burry Port was in the perfect location to travel to the Diplomat Hotel. 10 mins drive.

The house was beautifully presented, we had everything we needed and more. It's very close to the beach and dogs are very welcome on the beach all year round. The house is within walking distance of Burry port town.
