What a lovely property and area. We had a wedding the attend so weren’t there for too long but wish we could have explored more. The lake view is absolutely stunning. Carl was a delight and so so helpful. We absolutely loved it. The room was spotless clean. I want to go back and see more of the area. I’d absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful historic Essex village.

Beautiful historic Essex village. The Norman castle is open to the public and is also a spectacular wedding venue. Church well worth a visit . Good area for walkers and anyone wanting to visit a number of very attractive and popular villages in this part of Essex and into Suffolk. Not a lot of food outlets but many in the nearby larger towns ( Halstead/ Sible Hedingham ) . Have visited several times and looked at buying property here, this occasion was for a wedding in the castle, and a few nights stay was perfect for us and family.

I was invited to my niece's wedding - wow!

I was invited to my niece's wedding - wow! What a lovely setting for such an occasion. The 12th century keep was a wonderful experience with it's beautiful interior that survived two sieges. The grounds or I should say estate was stunning with its lake and the Georgian home and lodge adjacent to the castle keep another jewel to see. As for the event: the organisation was flawless with very happy people attending our every need. I will certainly return and spend more time soaking up our English heritage in a privately owned castle - well done Team Castle Hedingham- thank you!

The home of The Earls of Oxford.

The home of The Earls of Oxford. In beautiful surroundings mostly Elizabethan you learn who really wrote Shakespeare's sonnets and plays. The Keep is truly fascinating, the real name. I met so many authentic and fascinating people.

Lovely stay, our host was very accomodating and made us feel warm and welcome. We stayed for a wedding and sadly had to leave early morning but would have loved to stay longer. Sandwiches were made for us to take with us which was so kind and thoughtful as we would miss breakfast. Thank you very much
