All the staff were really lovely and I can’t speak highly enough about them! Overall the room was nice and clean. Location wise I thought this place was perfect. About 20 mins by car to Mam Tor / Winnats Pass & Castleton and about 25 mins the other way to Bakewell. In terms of Buxton town centre, it’s literally just round the corner for all the main shops, eateries & the Buxton Crescent Spa too (about 5 mins walk).

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The suite was spacious with very comfortable beds and pillows. Great location. Lovely bathroom with ample bath towels and our room had views to The Opera House. Nice full breakfast.

Such a great little village!

Such a great little village! The locals were friendly, loved visiting the Church Inn (Mondays for quiz nights) and climbing Chelmorten Low to get the blood flowing. Had a rental car but it was only 30 minutes to go anywhere (with the exceptions of Manchester and Sheffield). Very easy to get around, cute laneways with more room than places in Devon/Dorset. We stayed for 8 days and explored in every direction. Would recommend Harington cheese shop, stopping in Bakewell, Buxton (fantastic bakeries). Most of the days was a 4-6 hour hike with a homemade lunch at an incredible viewpoint and an afternoon treat at a local pub/inn or cafe.

Chelmorton is a a very quiet, peaceful location in lovely...

Chelmorton is a a very quiet, peaceful location in lovely countryside with walks almost from the door. But it is also close to the best of what Derbyshire has to offer. The spa town of Buxton is a great place to visit and reached easily by car as are Bakewell and Matlock. The higher peaks are prime walking country and again just a short car journey away. Close by is the amazing Chatsworth house and garden and there are lots of pretty villages with attractive pubs and loads of nice cafes everywhere you go. I would very happily spend more time in this area and would definitely return to Chelmorton again.

Very easy access into Buxton and the national park area.

Very easy access into Buxton and the national park area. Lots of info provided at the cottage for places to go and visit in the area if you've not researched already. Nice walks directly from the village into the surrounding countryside.

Good location in the village with a good pub with excellent...

Good location in the village with a good pub with excellent food (best to book as can be busy). Peaceful and only a short drive to Bakewell, Chatsworth, Buxton and other Peak District places. Some lovely walks from the village although as to be expected it is hilly! Could easily spend a week touring the area.

We have a dog and were able to access the field with the combination lock, great views 😀,we had a a ride to a local farm that does lovely scones n tea, the pub is just up the road to, loads of relaxing walks, definitely a place to visit if you want to get off the normal mundane every day life
