What a wonderful surprise. Pictures are often misleading, but the Salt House is as quaint, lovely and comfortable as portrayed on line, if not more so. April was an absolutely charming host, keeping us entertained while our breakfast sandwiches cooked. What an amazing story! The rooms were almost decadent in their comfort. Roomy and plush, be careful not to drown in the pillows! Bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was simple but amazingly tasty and filling. Located in the heart of Golspie, with the Chippy shop 2 doors down, and the Golspie Inn a short 10 minute walk for dinner. Assuming you are here to see Dunrobin Castle, it's a short 10 minute drive away. April indicated plans to open a bar and expand the restaurant for dinner, and if they do, the Salt House will truly be a destination hotel, but it's great now, just the way it is.

Gorgeous hotel!! Would definitely stay again. Quiet. Clean. Incredible location. Gorgeous room. Beyond perfect (except for dim lighting in the bathroom).

A 500-year-old converted Scottish castle, this hotel is set in the center of Durnoch, opposite a 13th-century cathedral.

Beautiful hotel located just walking distance from royal dornoch golf club. Staff was extremely friendly and supportive of our request to change room, we were first given an accessible room, but they were able to change it promptly. Great view of the course and lovely stay. Highly recommended

Great location with views to the sea, great parking, room was spacious and very comfy. Loved the use of the dining area to reheat a takeaway meal the evening we arrived 10/10!! and we had the most delicious breakfast.
