Only had <24 hours in Stirling on the way to a long weekend in another Scottish destination, but was well worth the pitstop. Explored historic centre - everything from Church of Holy Rude to Stirling Castle to Back Walk, Beheading Stone, Curly Coo, Bastion and Thief Pit, and more. Really great stay and would happily return for more adventures.

Stirling is a good base for exploring Scotland.

Stirling is a good base for exploring Scotland. Regular train service for Glasgow and Edinburgh day trips and for taking trips towards Loch Lomond. Stirling during the day is busy with tourists visiting castle but quieter in evening. Good choice of shops and eating options and I would imagine very geared up for dealing with students of the university during term time.

Amazing heritage to visit and learn about, obviously, so well worth taking the time to explore properly and have a good wander around. The ancient city walls are well preserved and the castle is fascinating. Good range of cafes during the day but a struggle to find food when arriving on a Friday evening - better to book in advance. Would strongly recommend the Allan Park Hotel if you're looking for something calmer and less noisy than the city centre. And they do a nice afternoon tea.

Stirling Castle was all I hoped it would be, but what really made the experience amazing was the Secrets tour- a 1.5 hour tour of all the hidden spaces in the castle where tourists don't typically go!

We only stayed overnight to pick up our rental car.

We only stayed overnight to pick up our rental car. Still, we had enough time to visit the castle and its surroundings, take a walk to the old bridge and back and have a lovely meal and a couple of drinks downtown. We did not need public transport, we walked everywhere. We really appreciated the walking paths around the castle.

Central location, right in city centre, free car park. Hotel a little dated in places, but aware before we went. Staff were welcoming and helpful, room and main hotel area very clean, decent buffet style breakfast with good choice of food. Bedroom fair size, clean, comfy bed, iron and shower/bath, tea making facilities in room.

The staff is very nice, the food, both breakfast and dinner, is very delicious. We are very happy that we chose this hotel. Thank you. I recommend it.

The apartment is in an excellent location, only a few minutes walk from Stirling Castle and approximately a 15 minute walk into the city centre. It was very quiet in the evening with very little noise. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and would definitely book again if returning to the area. Perfect!

The room as a bit small but we didn't need much more. The bar was excellent and a special mention to Kyle behind the bar. He was excellent and deserves a pay rise! The hotel was really close to the centre of Stirling and highly recommended.
