The bed was so comfortable! Best nights sleep id had in such a long time. The staff were so happy and helpful, couldn't do more for us. Traveling with our dogs too, even they were made a fuss of. They received a welcome pack with treats, balls and poo bags! All the cuddles and all the fuss. The hotel itself looks fantastic! Everywhere you look there's something pretty to look at. Would defo visit again.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Strawbury Duck Inn for one night, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. Tucked away in a peaceful location, this charming little pub was everything we wanted for a quintessential English pub stay. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and friendly welcome we received. Despite our arrival being after the kitchen had technically closed, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, ensuring we were well-fed and comfortable. This level of service was truly exceptional and set the tone for the rest of our stay. The food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish we tried was delicious, showcasing the quality and care put into their menu. It's clear that the pub takes great pride in offering a memorable dining experience. Our room was cute, cozy, and quiet, providing the perfect setting for a good night's sleep. It was exactly what we were hoping for, with all the charm and comfort of a traditional English pub. A special mention must go to Ben, who was incredibly friendly and took the time to chat with us, making us feel even more welcome. His hospitality truly enhanced our stay. In summary, The Strawbury Duck Inn exceeded our expectations in every way. It's a lovely spot with fantastic food, exceptional service, and a cozy atmosphere. We would definitely book again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful pub stay in England.

Comfortable accommodation with yummy food right under your nose. Breakfast was delicious, vegetarian option of Full English was very appreciated. Dogs allowed and welcomed. Large car park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We have foolishly forgot a piece of luggage and Neil have done everything and more to get it to us. Not all heroes wear capes, some of them just work in Red Lion.

Darwen is my home town so it would have been nice to stay a little longer in order to catch up with a few more friends and family. This is the first time we have stayed at The Whitehall but it won’t be the last. We were made to feel so welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed the short time we spent there.

The breakfasts were a farce , no supervision of staff , a manager was no where to be seen. They ran out of several basics and the food on the buffet was stewed and dried up. No bowls and the waitress thought muesli was the same as granola. Fawty towers springs to mind!!!!

A good traditional hotel. Helpful friendly staff. Good breakfasts. Our standard room with bathroom was absolutely fine, really clean and with all facilities, but a little small, should have booked a bigger room. Nice bar and lounge area. Lovely terrace and gardens, had it been summer.

The pub itself is fantastic - the road to it is not.

The pub itself is fantastic - the road to it is not. Careful driving is needed and a small car a good thing. Unusually though, it has a train station right below it (request stops) so you wouldn't need to travel by car. Dogs are very well catered for.

Beautiful house, every little detail was perfect and pristine clean. The living room was very spacious. We were in Darwen to visit family, and they came over and spent the evening together catching up. The terrace was lovely, overlooking the grazing field for sheep. Jude, our host, was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely return the next time I'm back visiting my family.
