It was easy to get to the Wheel as it was well sign posted, although disabled parking was not well sign posted for the Wheel, ended up in a bay that was a good 15 minute (at my speed) walk from the main area, with no benches. The Wheel itself was a great place to spend a few hour, we had a little trip on it which was really nice. The staff were really friendly and funny. We spent about 3 hours at the wheel but if you took a picnic and the kids you could easily enjoy a good day out there as there are other activities for them. The visitors centre was modern and clean, food was typical attraction stuff but ok, not as pricy as you might expect. We went on the the Kelpies afterward, staff gave us a permit to drive through the park to the disabled bays which was great. We had about an hour or so there, it was nice weather so we had a bit of a rest before heading back to England. Overall we spent about 5 hours in Falkirk as it was a more of a 'while we're passing through' trip back from Skye towards England, but it was highly enjoyable.

we was going to go into Falkirk to see the town and the taxi driver was very unhappy about taking us there as basically said it "was a dump with many boarded up shops" the wheel and the kelpies and calendar house we went to and all were worth the journey up to Falkirk to see.

It's a great base for branching out to other places. Well worth a visit to see the kelpies and the Falkirk wheel. Falkirk itself is a bit shabby and run down with an ok selection of day time cafes but virtually nowhere to dine out in the evening.

Lovely town, plenty to see, a beautiful park area for families and very dog friendly at Callendar Park, as well as the historical Callendar House. Everyone we met was super friendly and the rail network was close by which enable us to travel to other places with ease, Local taxi fares were very reasonable too.

We only went into the streets in the evenings for a meal, as we were out elsewhere during the day. Quirky shopping area, a bit run down in places. A few restaurant choices. Noisy in the evening with people having a night out. Beautiful and unusual old buildings

Loved the Falkirk Wheel - very interesting feat of engineering. The Kelpies are also brilliant and very impressive. Tried to visit Callendar House but when we got there found out it is closed on Tuesdays which was disappointing.

Kelpies Hotel Falkirk was clean and comfortable. The room was very big, which was ideal for me, as I use a rollator to get around. Amy was very professional and friendly and helped us immensely. We ate in the Chinese Banquet below the hotel, and the food was amazing, serving a varied menu from Chinese dishes to sushi to pasta to English meat and two veg.

Ample parking, easy to find/access and well located for holidaying in Scotland's central Belt. A reasonably priced bar and while I'm not a great lover of 'buffet breakfasts' Park Hotel's was far better than most that I've had. We will be using this hotel again.

Good location Close to The Kelpies and The Falkirk Wheel. Problems with no hot water were addressed quickly. We had dinner at a great Indian restaurant just down the road, The Mountain View. One of the best meals that we have had in Scotland.
