We were competing on the Roger Albert Clark rally and as we had to leave too early to have breakfast on the first two days bacon sandwiches were made for our party of eight to take with us. On our final evening when were celebrating finishing the event we had an excellent meal and staff stayed late to serve us.

Travelling up to Scotland last Sunday ,(18/02/24) with my friend and dog we booked this as a mid stop over and were so pleased we had also booked it on return journey yesterday. It was perfect, couldn't fault a thing. 2 lovely double bedrooms, tastefully and comfortably furnished, clean, well equiped... On Sunday we enjoyed a delicious meal in The Pheasant, the food was top quality. The ice cream was the best I've tasted. Last night as tired we decided just to eat in as the cottage really is a home from home. Ate in the spacious kitchen with log burner alight then retired to the lounge. A lovely evening and end to our holiday.

A fantastic little gem of a place. Quiet location. Exceptionally clean and well appointed. It's not big but has all you need and more. Comfortable bed, sml dining table and chairs, microwave, kettle, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery, fan, continental breakfast supplies 😋 good sized bathroom. A nice area out front to sit. Lizzy and Mike are wonderful, helpful hosts.

everything was lovely, the location, the bedroom, the drawing room, the dining room. beautiful walk along the River Eden in the autumn leaves, diversions to walled garden and chapel. staff lovely.

Farlam is a quiet charming village with some of the nicest...

Farlam is a quiet charming village with some of the nicest people you will ever meet. We stayed at the Belted in and loved the food and company. I had the privilege of watching England win a World Cup game with a gaggle of charming locals in the pub. The local beer was great! We also visited with some charming ladies that run a cafe just down the road. We wish we had more time to explore this place.

There are lovely walks nearby of varying lengths and...

There are lovely walks nearby of varying lengths and difficulties. The South Tyne Trail along the old railway line offers a lot of opportunities for circular walks and there are many opportunities to come into contact with nature (RSPB Geltsdale just down the road). The Eden Valley, Lake District and Hadrian's Wall are also not too far away. We only did a fraction of what we would have liked, partly because of the weather and partly because we just wanted to chill and leave something to come back for.

The biggest problem for me is your address for Belted Will...

The biggest problem for me is your address for Belted Will Inn in Farlam, a small village. It is, in fact, sited in Hallbankgate a much bigger place some 4 miles away. Most misleading and a completely different type of location.
