If your going for an experience at Oldfield forge (5 mins...

If your going for an experience at Oldfield forge (5 mins away) this is the place to stay. This was our second time going to the forge and have stayed here both times. Cannot fault anything and will be staying again.

Garway is out of the way down narrow country lanes in the...

Garway is out of the way down narrow country lanes in the middle of nowhere! The scenery makes up for this. Garway Hill has stunning views. Oldfield Forge is fantastic and well worth a visit or experience day. The drive along the nearby Gospel Road is breathtaking. Llanthony Priory is another nearby gem.

Very peaceful.

Very peaceful. We loved being able to take a walk up the lane to the huge common where the children could run about, then head across the very quiet road to the pub- nice and friendly and not too fancy for our post walk attire. So many fantastic places to visit in all directions from here.

We stayed here for the forging session at Old Field Forge.

We stayed here for the forging session at Old Field Forge. Location was only a 5 min drive away! Lovely restaurant with amazing food! and a nice beer selection. A really nice historic building with large rooms. The mobile signal was intermittent so recommend downloading or using offline maps, but this also made it difficult to use the card machine but was only a mild inconvenience.

Friendly Good parking Great beers and food Lovely quaint village location Five minute drive to Oldfield Forge Blacksmith experience which is the reason we were in the area Massive village green out front. No other shops within walking distance, so don’t expect to nip to a shop. But that’s the charm. Narrow stairs up to rooms so not very accessible but that was not an issue for us It’s an old inn, so expect creaks and slightly wonky floors, it’s charming! Delighted with our stay
