Very comfortable furniture, sofa, the beds and table chairs. all top of the range equipment and brand new all with an antiquity touch. Lots of homely features including ornaments and picture and plaques with good life motos. christmas decorations too. the shower was high tech and shower also had retro deco and wares. the owners also came to our aid during storm Darah power cut providing candles and lanterns which was lovely, adding to our excellent adventure

Location right in the middle of Staithes. Very clean and tidy. Cameron was awesome and can make one hell of a mean full English breakfast.

Everything about this place is lovely, most especially the warm and gracious host and owner. We loved our short stay. Rooms are charming and there are lovely touches all over the Inn, with unique artwork created by the owner and antiques or crafts that convey the thoughtful renovation of a 1700s structure. Breakfast is fantastic. Hotel is very quiet, has private parking.

What Guests Said About Hinderwell:

Lovely little village.

Lovely little village. Unfortunately during our stay it turned out that one of the two pubs in the village had been sold and the landlord had completely lost interest in the business so no food and no pump beer. The other pub had drinks but no food, we were told the chef was on holiday. There is a fish and chip shop there which has very limited opening hours. The food is very good though. There is a butcher’s shop which we didn’t use and a village tea room but not sure of opening hours.

We stayed in Port Mulgrave and walked into Hinderwell (approx 10 mins) to catch the bus which ran to Whitby one way and Staithes/Saltburn on Sea the other way. In Hinderwell we found 2 pubs, a cafe, 2 garages and a fish and chip shop. However we didn't use any of these facilities on this holiday.

Although not used others said how good the buses were to get around. Idesl for Staithes and Runswick Bay both if which can be walked to via The Cleveland Way, not a short walk but a nice coastal walk. The Badger Hounds was nice, really good staff.

Hinderwell is quiet and there’s not much happening on a Monday. Local shops like a Butchers, pubs and fish shop are close by. Great place to access places like Whitby, Runswick Bay and Saltburn by the sea. We didn’t eat anywhere in Hinderwell but Andy our host recommended the Badger and Hounds.

We loved our accommodation the Badger Set and have just realised how good walks are around there. So we definitely must come back. As we unfortunately had only 2 nights, we couldn't walk around as much as we wanted, and we had food outside of Hinderwell. But the pub next to our accommodation looked welcoming.....

Hinderwell is a lovely village close to coast and countryside. It has some nice facilities including an excellent butcher, tea room and 2 pubs serving food. There are varied activities at the village hall and the Hub which visitors are welcome to join in, for example yoga. We felt welcomed into the local community and will definitely visit again. The only issue was that some facilities don't open on Mondays and/or Tuesdays.

The views from the front window was exceptional, looking over the headlands. Very clean and tidy place, with a 20 minute walk to the Badger Hound pub in Hinderwell. 2 very comfy double bedrooms, one on suite. TV very easy to operate, which isn’t always the case with these new Smart TVs. Nice to be able to walk either way from the property as it’s on the coastal path.
