A few steps from the water, inexpensive and convenient parking nearby, on site restaurant/pub, and great local shops! Andy was amazing at check-in and during our dinner session. A VERY SPECIAL thank you to Max (kitchen chef) for his amazing attention to detail with a special dessert design for my daughter’s (Instagram handle @genevievee_777) birthday! Such an exceptional young man!

Amazing staff and always willing to help out … thanks to the front office team, they assisted me in continuing my motorcycling tour ensuring the bike was secure. They certainly went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. I will certainly stay with them again and will keep trying other Moxy’s. They certainly understand the needs of a Motorcyclist.

It was located close enough to some good eateries as well as points of interest. It was quiet and amenities on offer were good. A fan is in case it got to warm, some biscuits with tea. The breakfast was delicious and offered a large selection of warm items as well as cereals and yogurt.

What Guests Said About Kingsand:

Small ex fishing village with pubs, shops and a beach.

Small ex fishing village with pubs, shops and a beach. The Devonport Inn is recommended by locals but was closed when we visited as the landlords were on holiday. The Spar supermarket is well stocked and the deli’s (called ‘the Stores’) pasties were excellent. The Bay at Cawsands was right on the beach and had good seafood on the menu. Served by buses and therefore convenient access to Cremyll and Torpoint ferries. Beautiful walks through Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and to Rame Head along the coast paths. In fact, the South West Coast Path runs just below the house. There is a parkrun at Mount Edgcumbe too. There is a small beach but a larger one at the adjoining village of Cawsands just five minutes walk away. If you are mobile, a car is not required. It is difficult to negotiate the small lanes with one unless really necessary. Kingsand is a bit of a forgotten village due to the out of the way position.

I almost don't want to advertise this place because it was soooo nice. Very old world, relaxed atmosphere with excellent beaches and hikes - a little expensive in the cafe ,suppose if your from London/home counties you may think otherwise 😉 However there is a Spar and more reasonable options to eat at a more reasonable budget within walking distance. This place a fantastic for solo travellers, it has everything you need plus for a small fee you can use the small ferry to the Barbican in Plymouth from Cawsand beach - it's runs hourly weather permitting of course 🙂 There is also a traditional Chip shop just over a mile away which is very reasonably priced with very good food options👍

Less touristy than many areas of Cornwall but I haven't been in summer for many years. Sure it's just as busy as a lot of Cornwall in summer months but locals atmosphere more evident in autumn. Good base for the area. Good for coastal views. Also convenient for Looe, Edgcumbe House and Country Park and National Trust properties.

Kingsand, and its twin village Cawsand, are straight out of a storybook. These extremely charming villages are tucked into the Cornish seaside and literally whisk you away to another dimension. Getting there is a bit of a challenge by car, but so very worth it. Pretty much all of Cornwall is, and these villages are outstanding examples. A must visit!

Kingsand and Cawsand are huddled in a secluded bay with wonderful views out to sea and to the entrance to Plymouth harbour - far enough away not to be disturbed but close enough for lots of interest. The combined villages have five pubs all of which serve food - so its well served and atleast two have entertainment. It is a most tranquil nearly serene part of Cornwall and I would thoroughly recommend it as a base to venture out to the busier parts.
