Exceptional as always! We love our visits to The Village Inn and adore Alison (owner/hostess). It's always a pleasure to stay here when we come to Scotland every year or two. We wish we could visit more often. Simply perfect in every way. You make us feel like home. We highly recommend this inn.

Really lovely stone built hotel with an old charm about it. Very welcoming host. Room was large and beds were very comfortable. Spotlessly clean too. Lovely breakfast with everything you could need. We only stayed one night while traveling south but it was a great stop off point. Wishing the hosts all the best in their new venture.

Very easy to find, a little gem of a hotel perfect for a short stay. If you like looking at antiques and guessing what old farm machinery was used for this has an excellent collection arranged around the grounds. This is our second visit, and just as enjoyable as the first.

We only stayed overnight travelling up and back to the North of Scotland. Kirtlebridge is a very quiet small village in lovely rural countryside. just off the motorway but far enough away that you don't really hear it. No local facilities but we ate well at The Station pub in the next village

We only booked the one night as it was a base for a wedding we were attending , there is nothing in the village to be honest it’s only a handful of houses and the pub but it served its purpose well and is a great base as it’s right next to the M74

We always feel like we are visiting family when we return to The Village Inn over and over again. Alison is a gem and the accommodations are excellent. We always book the large room to travel with our two kids. Comfortable bed and everything you need is provided (including tea, snacks, full breakfast). Quiet and cozy little village makes this a win!

Kirtlebridge is a very small quiet village.

Kirtlebridge is a very small quiet village. Although between a motorway and a major railway line, it is far enough from both to maintain a rural feel. Junction 20 on the M74 is close. Lockerbie, Ecclefechan, Gretna and Annan (with access to the A75 to Stranraer) can all be easily reached by local roads. All are no more than 10 miles away. The Village Inn would make a good quiet alternative to staying in Gretna or Annan.

This is a dog friendly B&B. Alison's dog Bie is sweet.

This is a dog friendly B&B. Alison's dog Bie is sweet. Visiting dogs were behaved too. Our room was warm and comfy, with everything we needed. WiFi was great and we watched some interesting programs. Alison couldn't do enough for us, she's a marvel. Without a car it restricts the enjoyment of the location. Taxis can be pricey. Immediate views are lovely. We stayed here to go to a wedding in Springfell only 3 miles away.

This was an idylic place, if you love solitude.

This was an idylic place, if you love solitude. The views all around were beautiful, and our neighbours, (the cows) were a delight. Such curious animals, they came over to welcome us on our first night here. Self catering throughout, but everything you would have at your own home was available. There was also a cupboard with a selection of books, games, and DVDs should we need them. This part of the world is stunning, and the weather was kind to us. So much to do and see in the area. Gretna Green is a short ride away, and our favourite eatery, the Gretna Inn serves superb manly sized meals. A trip to the banks of the Solway Firth is a must, as is Moffat which is half an hour away. No visit there is complete without buying some Moffat Toffee. You are only a short ride away from Carlisle too, and the Lake District isn't far away. For nature lovers, this place has everything. Highly recommended.
