The character or the pub the fact that it's 600 yrs old and still standing . The quirky walls and uneven floors make it an interesting place to stay . The food in the evening was excellent and the breakfast in the morning again perfect .

This is not a location for a pampering holiday but the overall atmosphere of the site was thought provoking. In addition, evening strolls in the village steeped in history were amazing. This was certainly a stay which we will treasure as an experience.

Wonderful food from the Farm Shop opposite the property.

Wonderful food from the Farm Shop opposite the property. We ate a delicious dinner at the Black Lion in Walsingham. We enjoyed a good breakfast at the Walsingham Barns in Great Walsingham. We had a glorious walk to see the Snowdrops in the grounds of Walsingham Abbey. Wells beach is near for a good walk followed by delicious fish and chips at French on the harbour at Wells. In summer the miniature railway is great for families.

This is a delightful little village with two shrines and two...

This is a delightful little village with two shrines and two pubs. It was convenient for visiting the Xmas show at Thursford. The Bull Inn is fascinating and the Indian food menu was so good. Jason and his team were lovely and he gave us a bottle of mulled wine to take home, such a kind gesture.

There are 7 churches within walking distance and some of...

There are 7 churches within walking distance and some of them have a very long history. The two orthodox chapels with their many icons are really peaceful. St Seraphim's near the coach park is on the site of the former railway station and the church of The Holy Transfiguration at Great Walsingham is in a former Methodist Chapel. St Seraphim's also has a Quiet Garden. They Abbey Grounds are definitely worth a visit wtih their long history back to the 11th Century. I also went to Wells-next-the-Sea by bus which is only about 12 minutes away and connects with North Norfolk coastal path. My favourite place on this visit was St Giles Church at Houghton-Saint Giles

Pretty village with plenty of places to sit and eat.

Pretty village with plenty of places to sit and eat. Went to the black Lion in Friday Market and enjoyed a few drinks and bar snacks. Drove to the catholic shrine where there is plenty of parking with donation payment. The ambience is serene and tranquil. Lovely cafe and gift shop (the prices were very reasonable) and the slippers chapel is a must see with all the history of the first medieval pilgrims.

well kept pretty friendly village . early May so only 1 pub serving food but this was really delicious . handy little shop. free parking on village square. easy walks around village - info boards re walks and abbey/shrine. very handy for travel to gorgeous beaches and towns ...great for artisan craft lovers and bird/seal watching

The rustic nature of the Black Lion blends seamlessly with the nature of Little Walsingham. The staff members were all very good, and they bent over backwards to accommodate a late arrival to make sure they had food after their journey. Our thanks go to the ladies and the chef. Highly recommended for service and the quality of the dishes presented.

Cycling the Rebellion Way this pilgrims hotel was perfectly located for our Walsingham stop. Rooms were as expected for a pilgrims hotel - basic and not en suite, but spotless. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Bike storage was provided.
