Cheryl, Andy and Rascal the dog were excellent hosts who made us feel welcome and relaxed from the outset. Everything was so clean and tastefully decorated, with such attention to detail and there was so much choice of food and drinks. We slept well in our comfortable room and had an excellent breakfast. We were going to the show the next day. Llanwrtyd Wells was an excellent base and very close to Builth.

Llanwrtyd Wells is Britain's smallest town, rich in cultural heritage. Its history as a spa town means it has a surprisingly large number of hospitality establishments. Nestled in the hills, it is perfect for walking and as a base for exploring mid-Wales.

Llanwrtyd is a very small town with a friendly atmosphere - everyone we met said hello and several stopped to chat. There’s a convenience store and we ate in a cafe called ‘Tost’ which was welcoming and quirky. The Heart of Wales line station is about 10 minutes walk from the town and runs through a scenic route between Shrewsbury and Swansea.

We've been to Llanwrtyd Wells a few times over the years, and it's become familiar and feels homely. We usually drink/eat in the Neuadd Arms, where the staff are friendly, the food is tasty and hearty (they cater for veggies and vegans) and it feels very local, in a good way. It's beautiful country to walk and to ride, and there is the not to be missed world alternative games every August bank holiday, the highlight of which is the Bog Snorkelling, where people come from around the world to participate in. We love this place.

Great outdoor pursuit location.

Great outdoor pursuit location. Ate at the hotel and the food was superb. Absolutely drenched from walking in the adverse weather and the local customers in the bar made room to get us by the log fire in the bar. Local customers were very friendly and chatty, simply, a great place to stay. Granted, not a plush hotel, dated tbh, but warm, clean and this added to the charm

The scenery is superb.

The scenery is superb. We were there for a wedding, so didn't have time to explore much except for driving over the Beacons to and from the place. It is well worth stopping the car to admire the vistas. Oh, yes. Mind the freely roaming sheep!

The smallest town in Wales obviously doesn’t have the amenities of a larger town but it is a good base to tour the surrounding area. 3 pubs and a restaurant take care of evening meals and it’s not too far to a couple of larger towns if you can’t find what you want there.

Cheryl and Andy were very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. I was very comfortable in my room (double with twin beds) and everything was very clean. The house is in a quiet location but only a short walk from the town centre. There was plenty of car parking and also somewhere to store my bicycle overnight. There was plenty of choice at breakfast. Llanwrtyd Wells is a very pleasant little town in the midst of beautiful countryside.

Lovely guesthouse. I think 8 different rooms of different sizes and facilities. Good wi-fi and streaming service. Central location - close to pubs and store. Lorna is a wonderful host. Breakfast is amazing.

Cerdyn villa is a lovely, friendly B&B. The hosts were very welcoming. It was extremely close just a short walk from town and opposite Manor Adventure where our daughter was staying on a residential trip.
