This hotel has city walls!! , so you have the chance and I highly recommended, to walk the top of the walls and enjoy the view!! It is Centered, walkable, pretty, comfortable rooms and bed, friendly staff, the bar tender Nico!, was super friendly and gave us recommendations and also Shannon from the reception and the restaurant staff super nice (breakfast!). Complete breakfast, very good!! Our room was very nice, comfy, big bed, spacious bathroom, and the hotel has it’s own PARKING!!!!!! Of course not many spaces but if you get there enough time before check in your probability to get a space is high. If not, there is another parking close to the hotel! Check in was easy. Very close to shops, mall, rest, plaza, and pubs!!! Its a very nice town to walk and enjoy!!

I booked this as a little holiday before my son went back to school. We must have been upgraded to a suite because it was a massive room with two king sized beds and a huge bathroom with separate shower and bath. We had the best stay, he loved the swimming pool and although we didn’t use the steam room or sauna they looked really lovely and plenty of people using them. Tv had Netflix and a couple of other apps and plenty satellite channels. Staff were so friendly the whole time and my son who has special needs even commented on how lovely the staff were. Plenty of parking. Would highly recommend.

Derry was a good stop for history and architecture and culture. Nice walks along the river on both sides of the bridge. Ebrington is a new up and coming area with a few nice bars. Portrush and Portstewart are worth a visit, the trains are very clean and bang on time, nice to see the countryside and do the causeway coastal walks. If you really want a traditional irish jam night try the The Rocking Chair at the top of Waterloo Street on a Tuesday night, its isnt very well advertised but was recommended, six persons playing instruments from flute, guitar, drums, and singing, even the locals have a go, it felt very authentic rather than the usual irish entertainment. The best steak we have ever had in a long while was at the Port Hotel in Portrush.

I enjoyed a walking tour of the city which gave good overview of the history of Derry. I enjoyed listening to some traditional music in Waterloo st. Enjoyed mix of meals including pub meals and Thai food. I thought the Craft Village was great where can purchase homemade items.

It’s such a friendly place to visit… we went for the maritime festival and the level of organisation and cleanliness was very impressive. All the stewards were so helpful…a real sense of enjoyment. Great shopping and places to eat…something for everyone.

Did not have high expectations for my visit but I was completely wrong!!! The people were warm and friendly. Ship Quay restaurant was stylish and delicious. The pubs were a lot of fun, and the history of the city’s struggles was eye opening.

Derry/Londonderry ended up being one of our favorite stops in Ireland — warm, walkable, and full of heart. The whole city feels welcoming and easy to navigate, with history and scenery everywhere you turn. One of the biggest conveniences was the inexpensive parking along the River Foyle, just steps from the Peace Bridge and the historic core. It made exploring incredibly simple. From there, we could walk straight into the city’s highlights. The Guildhall Museum was a standout — completely free, beautifully curated, and a perfect introduction to the city’s story. A short walk away, the Visit Derry Tourist Information Centre was another wonderful resource. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the restrooms were spotless, and it became a reliable place to pause, regroup, and get oriented. Because the Guildhall and the TI are so close to each other — just a few minutes apart — they naturally became our “bases” for touring the historic sites. Walking the 17th‑century city walls was another highlight. They’re fully accessible, easy to follow, and lined with historic sites, viewpoints, and interpretive panels along the way. It’s one of the best‑preserved walled circuits in Europe, and the views over the river and the city are beautiful. We also loved visiting the Bogside murals, which are powerful, moving, and deeply meaningful. Seeing them in person gives a much richer understanding of the city’s modern history, and the walk through the neighborhood felt safe, respectful, and informative. Derry/Londonderry is a place with genuine warmth, fascinating history, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We left wishing we had stayed longer, and it’s a city we would happily return to.
