We liked everything. Descreet polite check in, just ask for any additional services - hotel will do. You basicaly get a small apartment: big shower with towells and toiletries. Kitchen. Office/leisure area by the window with sofa and table. Big bed with comfy mattress. City center with view to ex-church aka conference center now in our case. Downstairs there is a great bar. Always popular and busy. Just around the corner- great historical pub. 11 out of 10

It's a fantastic hotel I really couldn't fault it at all. Fantastic views of Lough Eren. We had food in the hotel both nights and it was lovely. The first night in the cellar bar we had fish and chips and it was top notch. Second night we had our dinner in the Belleek restaurant for my wife's birthday and it was beautiful.Great selection of cocktails and drinks on offer with the most comfortable seats in the Water gate bar . The breakfast both mornings we had a great view of the Lough and the attention to detail from the staff was very impressive. We did the stairway to heaven which is a half an hour drive away and we came back to a beautiful dip in the pool as well as the outdoor Jacuzzi . There is also a steam room and a sauna. Definitely going back and I will make sure to bring the golf clubs and book the spa treatment well in advance.

FAQs about hotels in Northern Ireland

Superb Landscapes and Thriving Cities

Situated on the green island of Ireland, Northern Ireland is a land of fascinating history and magnificent landscapes. From stunning coastline and vast mountains to lively cities, Northern Ireland has more than enough tempting attractions.

Birthplace of the legendary Titanic, Belfast is the region’s vibrant capital and 2nd largest city on the island. Recovering after more than 30 years of the Troubles, it is a popular city-break destination with a thriving nightlife, fascinating mural tours and great restaurants.

North-west from Belfast is Londonderry, also known as Derry, a modern city awarded with the UK City of Culture 2013 title and well-known for its intact medieval city walls. Nearby you can find Coleraine, a 20-minute drive from the world-renowned Giant’s Causeway, one of Northern Ireland’s major tourist attractions.

A visit to a small village of Bushmills, 15 km from Coleraine, and the world’s oldest distillery is a must for all Irish whiskey fans. For more outdoorsy types, Northern Ireland has plenty to offer: breathtaking views, steep rocky cliffs and turquoise sea, all part of its awe-inspiring North Coast. Further inland, you can come across waterfalls, historic castles and eerie ruins.

Whether you’re looking for city hotels in Belfast or Newcastle or spa hotels with swimming pools in the country, Booking.com has something on offer for your perfect Northern Ireland stay.

Derry was a good stop for history and architecture and culture. Nice walks along the river on both sides of the bridge. Ebrington is a new up and coming area with a few nice bars. Portrush and Portstewart are worth a visit, the trains are very clean and bang on time, nice to see the countryside and do the causeway coastal walks. If you really want a traditional irish jam night try the The Rocking Chair at the top of Waterloo Street on a Tuesday night, its isnt very well advertised but was recommended, six persons playing instruments from flute, guitar, drums, and singing, even the locals have a go, it felt very authentic rather than the usual irish entertainment. The best steak we have ever had in a long while was at the Port Hotel in Portrush.

There are only a couple of Restaurants in town and all require reservations to promise a table. We were there for a world Junior golf competition just a few km out of Enniskillen at Lough Erne. The daily schedule only consumed a few hours and we found plenty of shops, restaurants and things to do in Enniskillen. I had to find a doctor to look at my big toe, and this proved easy - Emerald walk-in clinic just opposite KFC. Excellent Irish Town all considered.

Great place to visit and if you like shopping it is great.

Great place to visit and if you like shopping it is great. Two great shopping centres. Great place to be near Dundalk. Carlingford and other lovely places. I drove the backroad to Carlingford with views of the sea near me. It was lovely. Do not forget Dundalk and of course Blackrock. I found Daisy shop in mill street great for knitting wool. It had some other lovely bits including ladies shoes. Great for craft work. near the Daisy shop was a lovely bakery. The two main shopping centres are worth a visit. I ended up in the car park in the Quays shopping centre , you do have to pay for it but it was really handy as I got some garden resources I needed. It was great.
