Amazing little hotel right in the centre this beautiful village. Ample parking for guests. The room was adjacent to the parking lot on the ground level which was really convenient. The room was large, very clean, very comfy and big bed like in the best hotels. The staff was very friendly and helpful (Simone). The hotel has a wonderful bar and excellent restaurant for the evening meal. Absolutely no need to go looking elsewhere although we were also recommended a great burger place just opposite the hotel for lunch. The breakfast was lovely, buffet style - cereals, cheeses, yoghurts and continental, plus tea/coffee and eggs to order.

Everything about The Kings Arms was fabulous. Our greeting upon checkin was great. Entering our room on the top floor was stunning. We were advised that a steep set of stairs would be required to get to our room but that did not deter us. Our room was simply splendid. We ate dinner here and their traditional Sunday roast was like eating at Grandmas. Mouth watering roast and Yorkshire pudding will definitely satisfy your palate. The town is like a Dickens Village - you’ll feel like you’re back in the 1700’s walking around taking in the historic buildings and shops. Breakfast was again fabulous with a traditional English style menu. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at Number Four at Stow! As international visitors coming to the Cotswolds for the first time, we truly felt at home thanks to the incredible staff. Everyone was so warm, kind, and genuinely caring—it felt like the old good days when people were simply nice and sincere. The service was exceptional, and the team went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The location is perfect, and the overall experience was unforgettable. Thank you for making our trip so special—we’ll definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay in Lower Slaughter.

We had a wonderful stay in Lower Slaughter. We used this as a base and travelled the Cotswolds. The hotel was very accommodating, idyllic and very relaxing. We ate in The Porch in Stow on the Wold. Food excellent. The young waiter there was polite and very helpful. We had gorgeous weather so really made our stay. Definitely will be returning.

I first came here 53 years ago when your sister hotel was a farm, and have been coming every year or two ever since. It occurred to me this time just how busy it was quite early on Sunday morning, with lots of crowds and Essex accents and as ever, discovery and popularity spoils everything.

The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, the bar area was great with the open fire making it very cozy, breakfast and dinner were fantastic, our bed was the biggest bed we had ever seen and very comfy and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a nice touch

Arrival Experience:

Arrival Experience: Upon entering through the bar area, I politely inquired about the reception location. The staff member responded dismissively, asking “Well, do you know which one? Where are you supposed to be?” This interaction felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. Check-in Process: At reception, we encountered further challenges. The staff member did not acknowledge us with a greeting or make eye contact, simply stating “There’s an issue with your reservation” without offering assistance or solutions. Dining Experience: While the room itself was pleasant, our dinner reservation experience was problematic. When we approached the restaurant desk, staff walked away to serve tea without acknowledging us, leaving us waiting for five minutes. After being seated, we waited an additional ten minutes before being asked for our drink order. When I requested a vodka with olives, I was informed five minutes later that cocktails were not available—information that could have been communicated initially. Ultimately, we decided to dine at the Sheep Restaurant instead, where we received the warm, professional service we had hoped to experience at your establishment.

Lower Slaughter is such a lovely place.

Lower Slaughter is such a lovely place. Very picturesque and quiet. Nice place to relax. If you want shopping, you've got Broadway or Stow on the Wold, very nearby. We on spent weekend. But maybe next time we'll bring our dog. That will then be our third time in L Slaughter!
