For walkers, the public footpaths are among the best signed...
For walkers, the public footpaths are among the best signed and maintained that we have ever experienced in UK. Chipping Ongar itself is an attractive small town with an accessible Sainsburys and plenty of pubs and eateries. We had a delicious, good value lunch at the White Hart pub in nearby Moreton.

Onger is quant ,I stayed at the Mulberry , the Italian restaurant,very nice decor relaxing food and service full marks .
The post office and coffee room ,again sweet ,

The room and the bathroom were modern, tastefully and obviously recently redecorated. Breakfast was very tasty, except for the watery organge juice, and served in nice quality crockery. The staff were generally very attentive and friendly. The location - off the main road in beautiful grounds - was ideal and quiet. Perhaps just check that there are no evening events on the in the hotel when you stay, as this could potentially influence the noise levels. It's very popular for weddings!

I travel for work and often have overnight stays booked on a restricted budget. Mulberry house is in every way exceptional, the beauty of the grounds, the friendliness of the staff, the ethically sourced bed linen. Every detail went far beyond expectations and I would return there just for the pleasure of staying in such a lovely hotel.

"Honeymoon suite": Very comfortable bed and big bathroom with nice big bath. Lovely grounds for a nice walk. Not a hotel so facilities are limited. Nice, big bedroom but the general upkeep could be better. Breakfast was good.

Lovely large room , we were in geranium , bed was comfy and fabulous bathroom . Grounds were lovely to wander in . Close to Ongar for all the necessities
