The Lugger and Portloe are so special! It’s not the easiest to get to by car, which is great for no crowds. The accommodations, dining, and staff were top notch! Truly, everything was nearly perfect. I will fondly remember our time at the Lugger.

Everything from start to finish. Dave and Sarah are brilliant hosts and you instantly feel at home. Breakfast was exceptional, and the homemade granola is brilliant. The room has everything you need, the view is amazing (picture attached) and the bed is very comfortable. The walk is great to either village, (it looks longer than it is to Mevagissey but it is quite easy) If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Mevagissey then you have found it!

Portloe is worth visiting if you are going to stay, drink or eat at the Luggers Inn which has prime position in the tiny harbour. Otherwise it is a long and straggling village with a long walk down past many dwellings to the harbour where there is very little for visitors apart from the Luggers Inn.

Delightful small and relatively unspoilt Cornish village and small fishing harbour. Small rocky bay, no sand. Great swimming for experienced swimmers but heavy swell and sea surge needs caution. Not suitable for young children.

Beautiful village ,very quiet and peaceful .Excellent location to visit other pretty villages a short drive away . Megavissey was our favourite where we had a lovely meal at The Ship inn..We visited Carne beach and walked to pendower beach a couple of the days with a welcome coffee at shallibooky shack. Delightful, friendly village with pub serving typical grub and a delightful chain hotel. The walks - inland and coastal - are wonderful. There are also an occasional bus plus plenty of non-central carparking

Portloe is a quiet fishing village with very friendly villagers. A local church store sells homemade cookies and little gift items for charity. Spend a relaxing vacation in one of the most beautiful seaside hotels (Lugger Hotel) in Britain.

We were hiking the South West Coast Path from Goran Haven to Portscatho and The Lugger in Portloe is pretty much half way. We arrived late and departed early so we didn't really experience Portloe but looking back from the cliff above Portloe is your quintessential Cornish fishing village. Beautiful. The coast path from Portloe in either direction offers stunning views. Whilst it is definitely not a gentle stroll it's worth the effort.

Lovely old fisherman’s cottage that has been lovingly restored. The cottage is in a wonderful location overlooking the working harbour of Portloe and has amazing views out to sea. Our hosts Annie and Giovanni couldn’t have been more friendly, kind and accommodating and went out of there way to make us feel welcome and extremely comfortable during our stay. We didn’t want to leave and very much looking forward to returning in the not too distant future. Thank you Annie and Giovanni!
