We had a fabulous stay at Blackshaw Gap. The owners Leah and Johnny couldn't have been more accommodating, they were very communicative beforehand and welcomed us on our arrival, and had thought of everything (even some milk ready in the fridge for our arrival cup of tea, and some very tasty cupcakes!) The cottage is beautifully put-together in a lovely quiet location in the countryside with views across farmland, and we were encouraged to wander wherever we liked across the fields to enjoy the peace and quiet. Everything was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay very much. We'll definitely be back again soon! One thing to note - from a previous review it looks like someone was put off from their trip by the mention of needing to let the owners know in advance if they were arriving in a low-slung sports car. Just to reassure any future visitors - there is in fact space for a low-clearance car to park, that the owners will let you know about when you contact them, so don't panic!

What's not to like! We arrived 3 hours early and from the moment we messaged Laura and Bohotel to request an early check-in to the hours after we checked out we were treated as lifelong, dear friends. No exaggeration, no paid review. The Bohotel's accommodations exceeded every expectation we had - the rooms were spacious and clean, wifi was accessible, reliable and fast, the food was top tier, life stuff/questions which came up over the course of our stay were addressed and resolved immediately - but it was the people that made it perfect. Laura, Sharon, Isaac - absolutely everyone associated with Bohotel, Suburban Green (the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel) - treated us like friends who also happen to be hospitality professionals passionate about their vocation as hospitality professionals. I don't often write these reviews but this is an exception I'm delighted to make. The review writes itself. I can't recommend Bohotel more enthusiastically.

Rainow is a beautiful but very small little village with...

Rainow is a beautiful but very small little village with great local walks and beautiful surroundings but limited facilities. When we arrived we were initially led down a closed road by Google Maps and had to work out an alternative way in as there is limited access. Once there we were able to park on the road. There are lots of amazing walks around this area and we used an app to find a 3 hour walk down to a local historic chapel and back. Locally there is a pub called the Robin Hood Inn which is really your only option for going out for food and drink without going further afield. The people there were lovely. Overall I would recommend staying in Rainow for a weekend trip to enjoy the walking and sights but I wouldn't personally stay for a long trip.

The cottage was well presented and throughly clean .

The cottage was well presented and throughly clean .The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was clean and tidy .The view was amazing and lovely country walks right on the doorstep. The location was great for us and our 2 dogs Thank you to the owners for all the supplies in the cottage

It was a friendly inn with activities some nights.

It was a friendly inn with activities some nights. Pub quiz and karaoke. It was a bit hard to find when driving and it was a quiet little village so no amenities within walking distance but nice walks into the countryside
