"Really gorgeous city with so much history. It's a really nice walk around the Roman walls if you have time and energy. Such old buildings and interesting facts, you can almost imagine it during the Roman days. Visit the Cathedral, Chester River, The Cross, Chester Market and of course, lots of shopping, eating & drinking options around town too. Highly recommend for some lovely photo opportunities, even in winter."

"Lots of lovely old buildings to look around remember crew is a town that is very run down and needs a lot of of money put into it it's worth a visit but at night-time please be careful as it's a little bit dodgy at night it's a lot of homeless people around and and they're all looking for a few shillings so it's just have to be careful on that one if you can try and keep in groups because there are some really sure you pleasures there there is a lot to see just use your wits"

"Lovely village: Visit the heritage centre to 'open the door' to history; good food establishments; quirky local traditions & good retail. Certainly a gem in the Cheshire Crown. A touring base for very beautiful local countryside & 1 hour from Manchester city centre. Several comfy/cosy pubs for winter retreat & well-priced dining."

Excellent staff, couldn’t be more helpful if they tried and really spoilt our puppy who came along for the journey too. Absolutely stunning place already looking to come back in the new year. Moved us to a different table when asked due to our puppy being reactive to other dogs in the restaurant.

It was fabulous, good value for money, room spotless, staff were lovely. Meals are huge and tasty. Great using local produce you can really taste the quality. The beer garden and play area for the kids was outstanding and although we didn't bring our dog it's super dog friendly and was great seeing one at breakfast! We had a room with a balcony and the view of the wheel and the small waterfall was just beautiful. Would 1000% recommend

What's not to like! We arrived 3 hours early and from the moment we messaged Laura and Bohotel to request an early check-in to the hours after we checked out we were treated as lifelong, dear friends. No exaggeration, no paid review. The Bohotel's accommodations exceeded every expectation we had - the rooms were spacious and clean, wifi was accessible, reliable and fast, the food was top tier, life stuff/questions which came up over the course of our stay were addressed and resolved immediately - but it was the people that made it perfect. Laura, Sharon, Isaac - absolutely everyone associated with Bohotel, Suburban Green (the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel) - treated us like friends who also happen to be hospitality professionals passionate about their vocation as hospitality professionals. I don't often write these reviews but this is an exception I'm delighted to make. The review writes itself. I can't recommend Bohotel more enthusiastically.

I loved the location, being situated on the River Dee is perfect! We walked everywhere, along the River and through lovely gardens, on the ancient wall, to the historic racetrack, to the cathedral, amphitheater, restaurants and pubs. We felt very safe. It was great watching boaters on the river, morning and evening. The room was nice size, very clean with comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty with nice variety, we had dinner at the restaurant twice also, very convenient. We had a car so onsite parking is a huge plus. Every staff member was pleasant and helpful, no exceptions. Chester is beautiful and I would definitely choose to stay at The Boathouse again.

Book a restaurant ahead of trip, I always have done, but slipped up on this occasion, as it was a Saturday, very busy, but luckily on passing lovely French restaurant Chez jules, north gate street, they were able to book us in 8.45pm that night, little late for us normally, but was so grateful. Food was delish and service excellent, there is a service tip included on the bill, which is fine, as we always tip but may have done so twice if not checked the bill.

Pleasant historic market town on the edge of the Peak District. Some excellent pubs and restaurants in the area although some of my favourites have closed over the past few years. Recommend Ryles Arms and Cock and Pheasant. Excellent area for walking with some beautiful views - White Nancy/Kerridge, Macclesfield Forest and Goyt Valley. Easy access to the Peak District National Park with many places for walking and scenic beauty.

It was my first visit to Crewe Hall, although I have been to another Q Hotel venue, Oulton Hall in Leeds. I love it there, so I wanted a similar experience at Crewe Hall and it did not disappoint. A beautiful building in expansive grounds. The facilities are excellent. All staff were so friendly and helpful. The spa facilities were excellent, I would highly recommend the deep tissue massage and the hot stone massage! Will definitely be returning.

There is quite a range of shops along the high street; the surrounding houses and streets are leafy and pleasant. I found a cafe for coffee / cake / light lunch and the staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and friendly. There is quite a lot of traffic which drives through. There are great activities though as I was visiting family I did not wish to pursue them - there seem to be bowls [on a crown green - not ten pin], golf, plenty of Churches. Quarry Bank Mill [NT] is close by.

Our second stay and we feel very relaxed and at home in the hotel. We booked 3 nights but then booked another night whilst we were there. The breakfast and bar food were excellent and we ate there every evening. Unfortunately we missed breakfast one morning and I wish the meal times had been available in our room as we had paid for two breakfasts. The hotel is very good value for our purpose, visiting our daughter.

This is a proper market town, with lots of historic buildings, individual shops, great restaurants and pubs, walks nearby in the park and on the canal. It is ideal to get to Chester , Liverpool or North Wales. It is a town that feels like it is thriving, it is a very attractive with a very big cafe vibe.
