A beautifully presented family-run B & B that gives you all the privacy you want or engagement with other travelers in the well-appointed common areas. Funnily enough, they get quite a few bookings and then cancellations from Australian travelers who mistakenly think they were booking for Torquay, Victoria, Australia rather than on the Devon Coast, UK. The family is delightful with dad being an excellent chef (breakfast eggs benedict was cooked perfectly), mum was so hospitable with great directions and suggestions with our walk to the harbor front and dinner, and the daughter who looked after us with checking in and at breakfast was just a breath of fresh air (good luck with your uni studies). I would definitely stay there again but this time for a few more days so we could take advantage of that inviting-looking swimming pool.

Shaldon is a beautiful fishing village peaceful and ideal for a break. The village offers great facilities bars restaurants & a vial leg convenience store. There is a ferry over to Teignmouth which is lovely and also offers more bars and restaurants if your looking for more. It’s also an idea place for nice walks. I would recommend a visit and I will be retuning in the future.

We know Shaldon very well, living within 30 minutes drive.

We know Shaldon very well, living within 30 minutes drive. But, for anyone visiting for the first time, the village is a real gem! Two great pubs, the London and the Ferry Boat Inn, as well the Ness Hotel and bar. Beautiful setting overlooking Teignmouth. The village is a warren of old and quaint cottages and houses, full of character and charm. Good local convenience store and independent butchers. Nice coffee shops and cafes. If visiting, you must take the foot ferry over to Teignmouth and experience the beauty of the river. The locals are very friendly and village vibe is so laid back it is impossible not to soak into full relaxation.

Sheldon is a small town, but very relaxed atmosphere (we were there mid September, so might be different in full summer). There are a couple of very good cafes and pubs, including the Clipper inn and The Ness up on the hill. It is quiet, and the pedestrian ferry across to Teignmouth is very handy, although it is only a roughly 30 minute walk over the bridge. The botanical gardens are a nice stroll, but it is a little bit of a climb up though worth it for the view. There is also a small zoo (we did not visit it) and the walk along the river is peaceful.

Shaldon is an historic riverside town, full of character, with relatively easy access to the many attractions in this part of Devon. Pleasant coastal walks from the town. There are several eating options for meals within walking distance, and an excellent bakery. The roads may be a little narrow, but they were built at a time when the combustion engine was not around.

We regularly visit Shaldon, it is a small seaside village, perfect for families. You can easily spend a few days there without the need to drive anywhere although there are many other lovely towns and beaches to explore from a short car journey.

This bijou property is perfect for two or a family using the comfortable sofa bed. The sofa bed was already made up for us on arrival. Kitchen very well appointed with coffee machine and milk in the fridge. Very cosy and warm. Property is attached to the host's house and part of the garden is segregated off for the rental. Direct views to the estuary, rabbits in the garden and a lovely walk along the edge of the river to get to the village centre. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended.

Fabulous place. It's bigger than it looks in pictures. Immaculate, clean modern yet maintains the feel of a converted barn. Excellent bathrooms and kitchen, loads of space to park right outside. Loved the sound of the sheep in morning when the windows were opened. excellent views day and night. Some friendly animals too. Pig that talks back , lambs and ponies . And great value. Just a 5 minute drive to shaldon We really couldn't fault anything .
