We only stayed for one night, we were attending a wedding Tournebury Woods which is a short taxi ride away. The property was just perfect, really well looked after and the host was very hospitable. The gift basket with snacks and treats was a lovely touch. Highly recommended 👍

Very comfortable and inviting accommodation. Linda and Clive were extremely hospitable and great hosts. Their home felt like mine, very warm and welcoming. The bed was a good size, cosy and comfortable, exceeded my expectations for sure. Highly recommend this place, location isn't too bad on the island, had a van so travelling to and from wasn't an issue. Breakfast was great, personally made by Linda, couldn't fault it. Would definitely book again 👍

The house was outstanding. In a quiet neighborhood. It had all that you need. Comfy beds, spacious master bedroom, carpeted stairs and hallways. Private car park, private fully fenced spacious garden. Fully equipped modern kitchen, and three bathrooms. And the house felt very secured and safe.

The property was immaculate! It was so beautifully decorated as well! Really enjoyed my stay, especially the lovely host who left loads of little bits in the cupboard like hot cross buns and jam, I really appreciated it :)

I came to this area many years ago so it was nice to come back. Part of the area has become a little run down but we still absolutely loved the beach. Lovely also that it wasn’t too crowded. There are some lovely places to eat and get ice cream. We ate at the Ferry Boat Inn. We were lucky to have such good weather.

We love to visit the Ferryboat end beach and watch the boats sail in and out of the harbour. We enjoy having a swim and fishing even though we rarely catch anything. The beach is mainly stoney and sloping.

We visited during the off-season so our expectations were low. Our interest focused at the beach and we enjoyed our walks there. The far West side of the beach at Gunner Point is worth a visit during low tide; a huge area of the sea bed dries up and you can walk far into the sea. Just make sure you keep an eye on the tide times. The island is rather small, you can easily pop back into the mainland if you fancy a bigger shopping or other program. We had an afternoon tea at Newtown House Hotel. It's a lovely place with a unique atmosphere. They bought out so much food, we took half of it home :D Our visit on the island was too short, will surely be back for a second look!

Having lived in West Town, Hayling Island (in 3 houses...

Having lived in West Town, Hayling Island (in 3 houses altogether in the 1970s) it was easy to see where things have improved - but getting on and off the Island by road is still a nightmare too often. Prices, including in Charity Shops (except The Lions Shop), seemed to be taking advantage of holidaymakers. We didn't spend much time looking around as we spent each day visiting friends in other parts of Hampshire and in West Sussex, some of whom we had not seen for over 50 years. We ate in ISLA BAY Cafe, Eastoke Corner, after moving on when we found only a very limited breakfast menu in the Cafe opposite the Chemist in West Town. An evening meal at Newtown House Hotel / Restaurant was disappointing, the Chicken and Wild Mushroom Stroganoff was tasteless, with chewy mushrooms and too little Strog sauce. Your question in "Tips for great reviews" ... asks about great activities for "young couples like you". Flattery might get you an interesting reply - if I were not 82 !

Not a lot to see off season but if you like a quiet laid back setting..with beaches and seascapes Hayling is ideal. We ate in the Barley Mow which is very nice inside, the staff were friendly…the food was decent and the price for 5 adults to eat and have a drink which included a bottle of wine and two courses for some was just over £70… can’t get that where we come from!! Whistlers Fish and Chips were tried as well, good service order and collect. There’s a petrol station near the bridge so a chance to fill up for the journey home.

Excellent property, it was perfect for 2 of us. Much cheaper than local hotels but like home from home in a very quiet location, also with private parking. It was a 7/8 minute walk to the beach and local shops, the location was perfect. Also the host was amazing, she was in constant contact and left a nice welcome gift for us. The property also comes well equipped with everything you need!

The cabin had everything we needed for our stay and was better than any hotel room due to the location opposite the beach and the enclosed sun trap patio with BBQ. Sharon the host made us most welcome and would certainly recommend this booking.
