Very easy to find and access, without staff being involved, but all very smooth. Good facilities. Armchair in the room was a little wobbly and room was very hot, but a fan was provided, although not very effective. Very clean and comfortable. Close to town and beach.

The upstairs flat is perfect for a person travelling on their own: it is compact but wonderfully furnished, plenty enough for one but doesn't feel cramped or small. Kitchen is well equipped, bedroom is lovely. The flat is lovely and light and does not feel claustrophobic. It is located right in the centre of Southwold, above a shop but there's no disturbances from this, and with the flat at the back of the building, there's no street noise either.

Southwold is a fantastic seaside town with a really nice, sandy beach, which is absolutely perfect for children. One tiny caveat is that very small children of, say, 5 and under might find the water a little choppy at times. However, there are lifeguards on the beach and you can pick a spot with a gentler entry. The town itself is lovely: lots of nice little shops and plenty of nice eateries. It is perhaps lacking a little in cheaper eateries and the majority of the pubs are slighter higher-end places. But for a gentle seaside holiday with either young kids, or teens who don't want endless neon excitement, it's great. Parking is so-so; it can be hard to find a space, but equally, the golf course parking is fairly extensive.

A lovely seaside town, very clean and hardly any litter around. Nice to see a good amount of public toilets that were generally well maintained. Lots of great independent shops, cafes and restaurants. The whole town has a lovely atmosphere, people enjoying themselves but not noisy or problematic. Beautiful beach that is easily accessible with large sandy areas to play on. Lots of good walks, especially to the picturesque harbour and neighbouring village of Walberswick

It is a lovely place with beautiful beaches but it is quiet and not a lot around I expected more restaurants serving fresh fish and a range of food Would recommend but only if looking further a quiet weekend and you have a car to explore further afield

Southwold is a beautiful little town.

Southwold is a beautiful little town. Everywhere is only a short walk away. The beaches seem endless and have golden sand mixed with a few pebbles. The pier has plenty of interesting shops and restaurants with a hilarious wacky mirror wall on the left hand side. The shops in the town offer many places to eat and drink and there are many fine dining restaurants. There are also many individual shops such as charity shops, outdoor pursuits, art galleries and of course Adnams brewery with its shop which a restaurant attached and its tours which include the brewery and a lighthouse tour which I would recommend.

The town lively & tasteful during the day with every kind of facility. It goes very quiet after 9.00 pm hence not so good for teenagers -- it's an older person town. Good but expensive restaurants but no chinese, indian or Italian & I don't think any music.

It is a very characterful historic hotel in the middle of Southwold, which has been very tastefully brought up to modern standards, with good attention to detail. The staff were friendly and professional, and the food at both breakfast and dinner was very good.

The Sail Loft is on the edge of beautiful Southwold opposite the gorgeous beach, just perfect. Our room had a sea view and a bath overlooking the beach. Breakfast was superb! One of the tastiest and best presented meals I’ve had in a hotel.
