Probably one of the best places we've ever stayed! The staff, location, service and rooms are exceptional. It's also very good value for money. There are huge grounds with a beautiful lake. The dinner and breakfast were all good.

We were there to attend an annual event at Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings so didn't expeience much of the area beyond two pubs (one where we were staying, the other with a nice restaurant), and the walk between the pubs and the museum site. It's a pretty area, with friendly locals at least two nice pubs. One (The Ewe and Lamb) with an excellent restaurant, the other (The Hanbury Turn) with three comfortable bedrooms rooms available with ensuite bathrooms.

We were not really there for the village itself. We were there for an event. There are good things to see in the area, however. I would include the Avoncroft museum and, slightly further afield Harrington Hall

We could not gain acces into the main building from room as door was locked. We sat on the stairs waiting and in the end we had to leave by the fire escape to wait on the car park for staff to arrive .Bo breakfast was set up as cook had slept in and forgotten we were there .He arrived downstairs after just getting out of his bed looking very unkempt.Breakfast was finally served with no condiments after repeatedly asking for them. Baked beans poured over everything not fit to eat and cost us £19 for the privilege which had to be paid up front ,Cooler fan outside window working all night .Sinks would not drain due to beard shavings clogging them up .Fire escape left open all night due to drunken guests leaving it open making the rooms very vulnerable .These concerns were mentioned at the time and we were just fobbed off .

The manager and staff are exceedingly friendly and accommodating! The pub is cozy and quaint, but modern and well equipped as well. The breakfast was made to order- absolutely delicious! We loved our stay at Hanbury Turn!
