We had the most incredible dinner and breakfast. The walk down to the Rocky beach was unbelievably gorgeous. This area of Ireland is not to miss. Incredibly run property with kindness and expertise.

Loved it all

Loved it all People hotel area museum shops-enough history Lovely little cafe good food service Unwined Cafe Peaceful calm lovely to mooch about and be Good area to explore other places North East South West a good base to come back to and relax Ullapool, Inverness, Dornoch, Portmahomack and so much more We missed the Strathspey Railway this time book to avoid disappointment - it is fabulous Need to get back soon, we have stayed for a week previously

We just loved our stay at Stratpeffer!

We just loved our stay at Stratpeffer! Lovely hosts and a nice place to stay, everything was very clean and it is a very Picturesque setting. We day tripped to Isle of Sky one day, which was great! Hiked old man storr, recommend this, also hiked the Fairy Pools which I wouldn't do if I had to do it over again, was overpriced from the sites you see in my opion. The other day we explored on foot in the strathpeffer area, beautiful scenery and such a cute town.

I recently spent some time in Strathpeffer, and it honestly...

I recently spent some time in Strathpeffer, and it honestly felt like stepping into a peaceful little pocket of the Highlands. The village has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, and wandering around the old Victorian buildings gave the place a lot of charm. I especially enjoyed visiting the Pump Room and seeing how the village became a famous spa resort back in the Victorian era . One of the highlights for me was exploring the grounds around Castle Leod. It’s a beautiful, lived‑in castle with so much character, and learning about its connection to Clan Mackenzie made the visit even more interesting. The scenery around Strathpeffer is stunning too—woodland walks, gentle trails, and views across rolling hills made it a really relaxing place to unwind. Overall, Strathpeffer has that perfect mix of history, scenery, and small‑village warmth. It’s the kind of place where you slow down, breathe a bit deeper, and genuinely enjoy the surroundings.

Nice small town with number of bar and restaurant. Well Organized place. Awesome scenery nearby, overall it's a beautiful place. We travelled to the isle of Skye from here and came back on the same day during Christmas time.

Strathpeffer is a very attractive small Scottish village.

Strathpeffer is a very attractive small Scottish village. For the size of the village it has four perhaps five good places to eat. Numerous old trees included a couple of giant redwoods usually found in America. Very relaxing place to spend a few days. It's also is a good touring base allowing you to go North, South, East and West.

Grate location but plan your trip before you go as there are...

Grate location but plan your trip before you go as there are lots to see and do but its a vast area to cover in a long weekend. Dunrobin Castle is a wonderful day out. Fort George is well worth a visit on a nice day.

We received a very warm welcome from our host and were fully informed about the facilities available to us during our stay. Our room was beautifully appointed and the views were superb. Well lit in the carparking area for our return after dinner with a bright entrance doorway and hall leading to our room. We look forward to further stays at this property. As the surrounding areas offer super day trips in the car in all directions, it makes a perfect base with good dining options in Strathpeffer on your return.

I liked the ease of access of the room and the Scottish thrift. Very basic looking bedclothes but warm and comfy bedding overall. They have a trust system and pay by QR code for everything at the hotel. There is a local shop for provisions and a couple of places to eat out. The Liking Chines is overpriced and is best to takeaway as they don't know how to serve food. There is a microwave, plates and cutlery at the hotel to eat any takeout food you buy.

This is a chalet rather than a cottage, and the facilities were adequate, commensurate with the property. The location in Contin was very convenient, with lovely forest walks almost on the doorstep, and a lovely cafe in nearby Strathpeffer.
