I found that fish and chips were not up to seaside standed.

I found that fish and chips were not up to seaside standed. Batter not cooked crispy all through, very disappointed with that. Having said that I didn't try them all. I did like the one way systems and it made driving easy.

Swanage is a delight.

Swanage is a delight. A traditional British seaside town I have visited Swanage every year since I was 5 and I am 79 in 4 months and I still.love it and it has hardly changed over the years. Their carnival is one of the best I have ever seen and raises a great deal of money for local charities. The restaurants are all good and cover a range of prices we ate at the Pier Head restaurant,, the Narrows and Gee whites.

Swanage is a nice place we liked the beach and the eateries, by car it is easy to get to some easy places I.E. wareham.poole and the ferry to brownsea Island is worth the trip also lulworth cove is about 35 minute drive and if you go on a short boat journey you can see Durdle dor from the river which I believe dates back to the Jurasic age amazing place the Jurasic coast.

The good: Views wonderful. Water glorious.

The good: Views wonderful. Water glorious. Sand good too, although it might be useful to take sand shoes as some parts of the beach were littered with shells and stones which continued into the water. Ice cream fantastic and not always heavily overpriced. We found our favourite next to the Amusement Arcade. The real thing and so many fabulous flavours to choose from. The open topped bus was such fun to ride on, given the sweltering heat when we visited. Do visit Ferry Bay - only 20 minutes away. Beach fabulous, scenic and water looked even clearer. Corfe Castle worth a visit on the fabulous Swanage heritage railway. Be prepared for a very steep climb to reach the castle. Beautiful, scenic walks along the Jurassic coast - stunning in fact. Durnston Castle great to visit and do a walk from. When we visited they had a wonderful artists exhibition on.

Ideal for Families (has one of the very few active Punch and Judy shows left in the UK), Couples, elderly, not really a teenagers/young adults place as it does not have a lively night life, some good eateries and pubs, nice surrounding areas of interest, well worth a visit/stay

Tbh a very out dated English seaside town, great for kids but not a place a I would revisit, only they for an event, the beach area is very small looks man made , far better area on the English coast . Sorry Swanage not for me ! Not much vegetarian options, not much options for a takeaway.

Property is situated just a 10 minute walk from Swanage sea front and all the shops. From its elivated position you enjoy wonderful views over Swanage Bay and beyond. First time visitors to Dorset, loved every bit of it, Studland peninsula and the beaches are spectacular and Poole is just 15 minutes drive away. We will be back.

The hotel is in a great location, with a great view overlooking Swanage Bay towards the Isle of Wight. Its about 20 mins into the town itself. It has direct beach access and lovely grounds. We had a sea view room which was spacious too.

The property location is amazing. Right on the beach and 10 mins from Swanage and great walks around. The spa was a bonus but the pool was tiny so really not possible to properly swim.
