Location; it was near a castle (Castell Bronllys), a really good Nepalese/Indian restaurant, and close to the 4 waterfalls hike and the mountain Pen y Fan. Katherine, who works there, was one of the lovliest people I’ve ever met. She was so sweet, kind, and helpful in serving breakfast. She even went out of her way to get eggs after I simply asked if there were any! They were there the next morning!

It has all the modern conveniences and easy access. The hosts were very welcoming, too. It was a quiet location and an easy walk into the town center.

We had an excellent two-night stay at Carinya in mid-October. Hosts David and Janet were very welcoming and thoughtful before and during our stay. They gave us some great ideas for the short time we were in the Brecon Beacons area. Breakfast was made to order and tasted great! We would definitely stay again when we go back to Wales!

Steve and Melissa were exceptional hosts we were made to feel right at home from the moment we walked through the door. The room was spotless and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. We had dinner when we arrived and the food was really nice and great value. We would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back again.

The weather was very hot in the 30’s so we could not go out during mid day as we had a pet. We had a few walks in Talgarth and surrounding areas in evenings when cooler and would thoroughly recommend. The walks, good food and drink rejuvenated the whole family. It is a pity it was a long drive from Norwich but would definately visit the area again.

The historical sites around Talgarth are interesting, and that was what I was there for. When the Hay Festival is going on, rooms are at a premium, and it is crowded. I would suggest avoiding the festival, and going during the week. Be prepared, there are very few restaurants in Talgarth, and what you do find isn't that good.

Talgarth is a small country village set in an attractive landscape of undulating hills, close to the Black Mountains. It's a friendly community and I can recommend the pub, the Bridge End Inn, which is very hospitable and welcoming. A small river runs through this little place and I found it calm and peaceful enough to make a third visit here.

We arrived on a Sunday and nothing was open. No where to eat, so quite disappointing. This could have been the time of year, so hopefully during the summer months this will be a different experience.

Lovely little village with a surprising amount of pubs and shops for such a small place. Very quaint and could imagine living here if I was retired. It felt very safe, no noise at night and the local Indian Restaurant and Fish and Chip shop served very nice food at great prices.

The town is lovely and scenic the people who live there are friendly and helpful and a joy to talk with. there is a local co-op that is always stocked up, plus a delicious ice cream shop right beside it; there is a lovely tourist shop, and the fact that there is a bus terminal with a working schedule which you can get updates on via a tablet touchscreen The only downside is transport there is a bus service but for taxis uts very sparse you would need to drive around if you wish to go any further out of the way.
