We were traveling by motorbike and the staff went out of there way to accommodate us. There is a dedicated area to dry and warm your kit when you are done riding for the day. There is also a covered garage to store your motorbike for the evening. The "Fox's Den" is a wonderful room to sit by the fire and warm yourself after a long days ride.

We had a nice meal at the local hotel and bought supplies...

We had a nice meal at the local hotel and bought supplies from the Post office. We would also recommend the Norse Bakery for great pizzas. We enjoyed walks along the local beach beautifully deserted -though on the second day we saw 2 other people there ... We drove to Cape Wraith which was disappointing- an expensive trip with limited cafe facilities and there wasnt much there to see. We had a great meal at the Quay House,Lairg.

There isn’t a lot to do at talmine itself - there’s a hotel...

There isn’t a lot to do at talmine itself - there’s a hotel called the tongue hotel which you can get a meal but it’s expensive there’s a local shop open during the day. Beautiful walk along the beach ( we seen seals ) very quiet and small town . Durness is about half hour drive with a couple of things to do but again very quiet and no pubs etc but does have a spar. Make sure you bring your own food etc if staying in talmine area . Gorgeous backgrounds and lovely walks but as we found out up the top of Scotland there’s not a lot going on apart from walks.

Lovely location if you like to walk otherwise not much else...

Lovely location if you like to walk otherwise not much else to do. No local pub in the village. Limited choice in village shop. Nowhere to buy a newspaper. The next place Tongue had a restaurant but not dog friendly.
