CanadaTaifur communicated with me beforehand and was very helpful in meeting me as soon as I got from the airport to Tonbridge. Even showed me where the parking spot was on a video. Very helpful and polite. He noticed that the weather was going to be hot and provided a fan. Extremely convenient flat with parking. Nice living room, full kitchen with washing machine. Small table and chairs in kitchen. Perfect for one person. Detergent, soaps, coffee, sugar, oil, salt supplied. Very quiet with windows closed even though on High St. Not a noisy area day or night. Very safe. Plenty of storage and hangers. Everything convenient

Very pleasant area. Close to Hever Castle, Penshurst, 5 to 10 min drive. Lots of other important places close by. Between Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks. Good train station right in town to Ramsgate, Canterbury, Charing Cross. Good shops on High St. Lovely countryside. very safe looking and pleasant

There is little to be said about Tonbridge, at least the streets surrounding the station where Riverview Cottage is located; small 19th century workers terraces on streets lacking trees. However, as a base for exploring Kent and Sussex it worked well. The presence of big Waitrose and Sainsburys less than a 5 minute drive away is a bonus if planning to self cater.

Tonbridge is an attractive town with many fine buildings.
Tonbridge is an attractive town with many fine buildings. The castle/river area is lovely.
The shops are very disappointing and down-market, very little to look at there.
We ate at Pizza Express (like all others) and at the Ivy House (not as good as recommended). For breakfast Goodfella's does a good job.

Run of the mill shops on high street, lots of food choices from the usual suspects but a few independent cafes that do a decent breakfast.
Lovely large park a stones throw from the busy high street, a gentle walk through a beautiful riverside section brings you to the historic ruins of Tonbridge Castle although the gatehouse is intact. A peaceful place to spend a few moments?

We enjoyed walking round the town and castle areas learning...
We enjoyed walking round the town and castle areas learning of some of the history and everyone we encountered was friendly and polite. We had a great taxi driver from Sam's taxis who delivered us safely to the event we were attending and picked us up on time and engaged in great conversation. We ate at Verdigris by the river one evening and would thoroughly recommend the delicious food, engaging and informed staff and fun atmosphere at the bar and restaurant.

The castle is interesting and the playing fields, pedestrian walks by the river and the woodland with it's lakes are all close to the centre and are very pleasant. They have free Friday night music performances by the river in the summer and they are very popular and well done.

Great location Easy access..Flat needs bit of TLC .Towels didn't look clean . Stains on couch .Kitchen lots of appliances. Do not stay here if mobility issues. One of older houses in Tonbridge so come straight out of bedroom onto steep stairs . With a bit of TLC this could be ideal but not for non agile people

Perfect location within walking distance to pub and nice walk to Tonbridge. Great handover including practicalities of being on a boat and use of generator. Perfect for the dog and was certainly different!

Hotel was very centrally located. Plus, the room was a good size, clean (spotless towels and sheets) and had a good shower. Also, all the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
