I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Everyone I encountered was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely accommodating. The room itself was spotless—cozy, clean, and fresh, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home away from home. But the real highlight? The bed. It was hands down the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. I woke up each morning feeling completely rested and refreshed. A special shout-out to the manager, Steve, who truly sets the tone for the exceptional service here. He was attentive, kind, and clearly cares about every guest’s experience. His leadership shows in the quality and warmth of the entire team. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, cleanliness, and top-notch hospitality, this hotel is it. I can’t wait to return!

Well what a difference we have stayed at the kings head several times and I must say it was a bit run down ( cheap and cheerful comes to mind) but now after a full refurbished it is now an excellent place to stay only downside is the rooms are on the small side which with an old building cannot be changed + great location and as always the staff are very helpful and welcoming

Grand staff and excellent service. I am very delightful with their exceptional service. Very flexible and supportive. I had my freedom there and did not experience any single difficulties. Very friendly environment even for non-English community. Beautiful, clean, peaceful and calm environment. Food is very tasty and great presentation too. Chef deserves 10/10. Great spot, games room & pool were a great addition.

Great spot, games room & pool were a great addition. Lots of things to do & we had quite a few nice pub meals. We were a little disadvantaged as we had elderly parents so couldn't explore as much as we would have liked.

Tunstead itself, not much of anything.

Tunstead itself, not much of anything. Pub only open weekends but great location handy for coast, broads and city of Norwich. Our cottage very pleasant with extremely helpful but unobtrusive owner. Hot-tub excellent.

Tunstead village is very small, with very few amenities.

Tunstead village is very small, with very few amenities. We had a meal at the pub The Horse and groom, which was enjoyable and my husband said it was the best burger he'd had in a long time. The nearest town was Wroxham which was lovely. It had a great store called Roys where you could buy just about anything you needed. We also went on a river boat from there to see some of the Broads.

It is an ideal base for exploring north Norfolk, but a car...

It is an ideal base for exploring north Norfolk, but a car is pretty much essential. Coastal towns such as Cromer and Sheringham are about 14 miles away and Blakeney Point and Horsey Gap are a similar distance and ideal to see wildlife (especially seals from October). The Norfolk Broads and Norwich aren't too far away either!!
