This is a lovely, old building with clean and comfortable rooms. Unfortunately the heatwave that hit England made the rooms extremely hot and stuffy but they did supply an oscillating fan for everyone. Being able to.open more windows would be an improvement but the staff were so helpful and friendly, plus they were all suffering the heat as well. The breakfast was good with an excellent choice of cooked items as well as cold. I had lunch there one day and it was also excellent. Top marks for trying to help everyone live with the heatwave!!!

Overall, a pleasant stay and the accommodation was good value for money. I would stay here again and would recommend it should anyone ask. We have family in nearby Ware so it made a perfect base for us. Although we didn't eat in the pub we were told that the food has a good reputation by several people

Bedroom was cleaned comfortable with attractive decor. Chocolate and biscuits on arrival which was most welcome The pub and the restaurant were attractive and efficient. My partner had a superb toad in the hole for supper. Which was better than I cook at home! All staff were friendly and efficient. A most enjoyable experience monica

We only stayed overnight prior to a wedding so we didn't sightsee or travel anywhere except to the wedding venue. However, we booked seven rooms so it was nice for lots of the family to be together. All the rest of the family stayed two nights. Very close to Milling Barn Wedding venue at Buntingford so spot-on.

The staff were excellent, especially at Breakfast. The menu for lunch and evening meal had very good choices. The position of the hotel and parking was good. The room was a disappointment. It had very little natural light, due to a small window. There was no full length mirror. After dropping something on the floor and retrieving it we realised how dirty the carpet was. The room had not been cleaned properly. There wasn't enough ventilation to the room. Air conditioning would help to address this as the window is too small to allow air flow.

The hotel is fine the staff were helpful - the room was clean - The pillows were a little soft for my liking but that's just personal preference Unfortunately there were problems with the WIFI which can happen and was not a huge issue, The real disappointment was the breakfast it was frankly awful the full English did not include bacon which wasn't on the menu strangely so perhaps a little unfair to complain about that - the remainder though was so low on quality, The lone sausage tasted and looked cheap , the scrambled eggs were dry and felt like that they had been cooked some time earlier and finally the fried tomato had only had a passing introduction to frying. Just a very poor breakfast indeed

Room quite small, bathroom tiny. Stairs quite difficult to negotiate with luggage. Overall though room was very comfortable for one person. Loved the selection of teas and the toiletries. Most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in (and I've stayed in dozens). Breakfast delicious and friendly efficient staff. Would definitely stay here again

Hotel room was nice, just very low ceilings. The family room bed was not so good. Very uncomfortable for an adult to sleep in. I slept in the main bed with my son and the other adult slept in the sofa bed. Not the best night sleep as the sofa bed was very thin.
