The Mount is seriously run down and it's externally blocked up windows do not bode well. Room in annex was quiet and comfy. Bathroom had black mould and needs overhauling. Staff were friendly and efficient. Good breakfast. Paths between Mount and bedroom annex were slipery with moss.

Wrightington hotel and spa is where I stayed, nice location & the spa looked good but the room I was in was shocking for £125 per night, it was apparently a superior deluxe double 🤷🏼‍♂️ I paid £50 more for the 2 nights because I had a good view (a courtyard). My room wasn’t a nice as my pals room in any way yet he paid £50 less…. In the photos you will see the courtyard and my little box shower & in the other pictures u will see hi bathroom / shower that’s meant to be basic & I will let you all be the judge

Wigan is a small town with a fairly compact town centre, two train stations very close to town. Plenty of eating/drinking places within a short walk No visable sign of beggars People I met were apparently happy with life

Lovely little shopping area and beautiful historic buildings. Nice variety of shops in shopping centre. Lots of redevelopment going on so would be interested to go in a couple of years time to see what it's like.

Wigan certainly has an interesting history and the information provided at my accommodation was perfect for exploring the surrounding areas. Green parks and walks right on the doorstep, very refreshing and certainly somewhere I will be back to visit. A lovely shopping centre within easy reach and with friendly locals.

Had a wander around Wigan centre , turns out to be far more interesting than I had thought , lots of history , lovely buildings and the centre is being regenerated. Two beautiful parks for a nice stroll , was pleasantly surprised.

Didn't get to stay at the property. They cancelled less than 24 hours before the stay via Bookings app, not even a personal email or phone call. They have still not logged it as cancelled by them on the app and I am still awaiting a refund. Despite having had to shell out on an emergency hotel.
