There is no doubt that the venue, grounds and general...

There is no doubt that the venue, grounds and general location are absolutely fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue to anybody, the building(s), grounds and decor are smashing. As I was committed to other, personal events I didn't get to see too much of the local attractions but spoke to others who had some good experiences. I did find the taxis a tad expensive but reverted to Uber who were spot on and quite noticeably cheaper..

We stayed at the hotel while attending a wedding and, having had a fantastic experience during our previous stay, we arrived with the same high expectations. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. The room was noticeably dated, dusty, and had an unpleasant smell. Most concerning, however, was a significant ant infestation. We ordered breakfast via room service, and within a short time, the food was covered in ants. When unpacking our luggage, we also discovered ants throughout our belongings. It was a truly unpleasant and unacceptable experience. What has made matters even worse is the lack of response from the hotel. I have contacted both the reservations team and reception regarding these issues, but have yet to receive any acknowledgement or reply. It is particularly disappointing given how much we enjoyed our first stay. Sadly, this experience fell far below expectations and left us feeling very let down.

We visited for the walking, the landscape and the fact that...

We visited for the walking, the landscape and the fact that there nearby towns and places of interest eg Berkeley Castle, Newark Park and Stroud and would strongly recommend the area if that's your thing. The Cotswold Way runs through the village and there is an excellent farm shop nearby.

Perfect little house in the prettiest of surroundings.

Perfect little house in the prettiest of surroundings. The walks to the village and up on the hill nearby were stunning. We loved our stay! The accommodation had everything we needed including a very nice food hamper with breakfast essentials.

The grounds and staff are excellent.

The grounds and staff are excellent. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, early check in was really helpful and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The noise of the plumbing in the night was a disappointment but apart from that it was excellent and I would definitely go back again, hopefully for longer next time.

we have stayed here for a number of years on the basis of a stop off on the way to Cornwall. The building itself could do with a re refurbishment although the room was good. Price of the drinks and meals are overpriced and would recommend finding somewhere else to eat and drink. It was a disappointment really as previous visits were good.
