The lodge was perfectly situated for the hike. The hosts could not have been more hospitable- Ken gave us a warm welcome and Julie gave us the best tips for the day, all hand written. This place was recommended to us by family, and we absolutely recommend it to anyone. And did I mention the yummy breakfast?! A true Donegal experience, surrounded by an amazing landscape.

Oh wow, the Rusty Mackerel is the most amazing place and in a beautiful location. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, but the pub is simply put amazing, with great live music and authentic food/drinks. Staff was also super friendly!

We couldn't have imagined a more wonderful place to start...

We couldn't have imagined a more wonderful place to start our trip to Ireland at the foot of the Sleive League! The pub food was terrific and the friendly staff made us feel so welcome. Later in the evenings, musicians spontaneously arrived and started to play together on various instruments. It was better than we had even hoped it could be. The Rusty Mackrel is a very unique B&B and we loved our two day stay. We hope some day to come back again.

In a spectacular location in south Donegal.

In a spectacular location in south Donegal. There is an excellent pub, there are shops and other facilities a couple of miles away. Guests should be prepared for wet and windy weather (we were lucky). The main attraction ais Slieve League, The Rusty Mackeral serves good food etc. Other area of Donegal are easily reached ie. Glencolumbkille, Gweebarra, Glengesh, Killybegs and the Blue Stack mountains.

Best thing is trip up to Sliabh liag cliffs stunning views.

Best thing is trip up to Sliabh liag cliffs stunning views. Also beautiful beach nearby Silver Strand. Teelin does not have any shops except for a café/gift shop near the visitors Centre and extremely limited accommodation. You can do boat trip and cliffs in one day. Its all about the scenery.

Lovely wee place in the middle of nowhere, perfect for a...

Lovely wee place in the middle of nowhere, perfect for a tranquil get away. Be sure to climb Slieve League for some stunning views. Lovely waterfalls and beaches in the area but best to go by car. Rusty Mackerel is a must for food, staff very friendly and welcoming
