Our recent stay at the Himalayan Holiday Resort was an absolute delight. The resort’s proximity to the serene Kasar Devi Temple was a major factor in our decision, and it did not disappoint. The resort boasts breathtaking views of the majestic Nanda Devi peak, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. The hospitality at the resort was truly exceptional. Gopal ji, his brother, and the entire staff went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay. Their attention to detail and genuine care for guests’ well-being were truly commendable. The all-inclusive package, which included delicious breakfast and dinner, added even more value to our stay. The food was fresh, flavorful, and catered to diverse tastes. The resort’s convenient location, just a few meters away from ample bike rental options and other amenities, made it easy to explore the surrounding areas. We wholeheartedly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a tranquil and unforgettable getaway.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Ended up extending our trip. This is an area which has thankfully been untouched by rapid and vapid development. The views of Himalayas were amazing. The location is a 8 kms drive from Jageshwar and Vrid Jageshwar intersection. The road is well connected and drive is pleasurable. I was looking for an off-beat quaint location and Kasar Devi( which I loved when I first went there a few years ago) seemed commercial. At Kot Kailash we were welcomed by the nature. With the comforts of a boutique and cosy homestay. Also, we felt a personal touch at Kot Kailash. Had engaging conversations with Pushkar, who had been a wonderful host having an incredible Kumaoni knowledge which translated to yummy local food. ( Read- do not miss the local Kumaoni Dal or the Banofee Pie). His love for coffee meant you can always ask for one :). One of the days went for a nearby trail with Pushkar. Incidentally other guests also joined and it ended up being a good bond over travel, nature and sharing knowledge. With a negligible AQI the location was spot on and we hope to revisit it sometime during the winters. Curious to see how the forest will look like in the snow :)

The amount of coniferous tree cover in hawalbagh & Kasardevi...

The amount of coniferous tree cover in hawalbagh & Kasardevi temple area is astonishingly large. The plethora of temples and local faith around them is surprising, and gives a strong cultural tinge to Almora. We missed Dussehra festivities by a whisker, as we were too tired after a walk in Simtola eco park.

Almora is a nice place to stay having plenty of options. This place is famous for its baal mithai.. the mountain chocklate. Also, the heritage temples are very popular like jageswar, katarmal Sun temple

The main bazaar is definitely worth a wander - beautiful old buildings, great food friendly people. Many interesting places to visit in surrounding area e.g. sun temple, jageshwar dam, kasar devi (but kasar devi worth staying at as very chill location)

Ideal location for a peaceful holiday if you are fine to eat at non-branded road side outlets. Very clean and picturesque location. Beautiful non-modern temples at spectacular locations and these temples are very accessible. Lovely flora and fauna to explore. Locals are nice, warm and not pestering or obtrusive., Did not see any beggars around as well, which is remarkable. Most of the roads are well maintained. One can easily hire bikes and explore. Plenty to explore at higher altitudes. So one can start here and head up after 2/3 days or the next trip.

Almora is the cultural capital of Kumaoun and it has a vibrant cultural life. Though the physical environment in much of the town has degraded considerably, the property we were staying in is exceedingly beautiful and made up for all the shortcomings of the rest of the town.

Everything about Almora is too good.

Everything about Almora is too good. Weather -inspite of winters , there was bright sunlight during the day time. Food is simple but very tasty. If one wants to stay away from city hustle and bustle can come here and relax and rejuvenate. Pollution free environment. Will make your heart and lungs strong.
