was an amazing experience. I always wanted to stay in a traditional homestay of the place. The location of the stay is also really good, not far from anything yet quiet and peaceful. The host is amazing, he told us about the place and the stories I wanted to know. And the food is also very delicious and fresh. Overall loved my experience there and wanted to extend but it was fully booked. But definitely going to come again.

The location is very good and makes for a great view of the lake and the mountains. The staff was very courteous and even at off season with limited resources went out of their way to make the stay comfortable with great food and facilities.

Depends upon the travel itinerary.

Depends upon the travel itinerary. If you just want to sit in quietness to hear the sound of river, this is your place. There aren't much of the places to explore. Many tourists come only for a day trip here. I spent 2 days here sitting by riverside , gazing mountains. There are buses from sangla/reckpong peo/kalpa to chitkul and vice versa. Plan your travel accordingly. Chitkul is small village so you have to explore by foot. If you want to go till ITBP checkpost it is 3km and if you want to go beyond checkpost for scenery it is 4 km ahead.

Though far Chitkul is a stunningly beautiful place with the Himalayan peaks glistening in morning sun and the ice-cold Baspa river. The peaks are a faraway sight from other places but here in Chitkul it's very close. The Baspa river is amazingly beautiful. You can spend endless hours by the side of it. Coming from the melting glaciers it's waters are ice-cold. There's a nature walk down a farmland. Simple and natural irrigation, lot of flowers amidst tall mountains. The road from Karcham may not be in excellent shape but it's enough to feel some adrenaline rush. Well, your co-passengers may not be that thrilled but it's really great for a drive. No wonder bikers from around the country make it a point to visit the place. The point up to which you may go is just a few kilometers ahead. There's an ITBP checkpost and you have to return from there.
