I had booked Kutchi Niwas at the last minute, mainly as a budget stay for the night — but it turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of my trip. The homestay is set within a family compound, and our host Sanjot made us feel completely at home — from taking us around the village to sharing stories about their culture, ancestry, and life around Dholavira. A special mention to his mom for the warm, soul-filling meals — bajra roti, sev tomato, kadhi, khichdi, dal, and chaas — simple, authentic, and made with so much care. They even went out of their way to provide hot water late at night for us to bathe, which really reflects their thoughtfulness. What stood out throughout the stay was their attentiveness and genuine hospitality. It truly felt like home — simple, honest, and deeply rooted in village life. If you’re looking for a real, uncurated experience, this place is something special.
