Room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable Even though google has listed this as a 3 star hotel it is more like a 4 star. The location is great situated on the main road but it is still very quiet. There are some nice restaurants walking distance and also a short drive into the main attractions The service was attentive and great.

We try to find heritage hotels in India. We found Tanjore Hi in Thanjavur which has the heritage quality of an old house but with the flair of a boutique hotel. It’s a special place. And for practicalities, the room was large with high ceilings, hot water readily available for showers or bath and all clean. We had a good meal on the upper floor restaurant which is spacious and full of light. Beautiful open design. Highly recommended. Owner and staff are very attentive and helpful. It’s a short walk to the Royal Palace - don’t miss the art galleries there - and shortish tuktuk ride to the Brihadeeswara Temple.
