I stayed at Hotel Mary Land in Velankanni and had a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The location is perfect – just a short walk to the Velankanni Basilica and all major attractions, yet tucked away enough to enjoy peace and quiet. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and all necessary amenities. The air conditioning worked perfectly, the bathroom was clean with consistent hot water, and the Wi-Fi connection was reliable. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. From check-in to check-out, they made me feel at home. Their local knowledge was very helpful in planning my visits to the church and nearby areas. Overall, Hotel Mary Land offers fantastic value for money, great comfort, and genuine hospitality. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Velankanni, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

A beautiful place for to connect with spirituality, to worship, thank and glorify God. There is on-site counseling services, adoration chapel, confession and mass in several different languages. Great place for immersing in prayer, meditation, spirituality and witnessing deep faith of other believers. Three beautiful churches, museum of offerings, church shop, not to mention the miraculous stories connected with this place.

Front office staff very good.

Front office staff very good. We appreciate their attitude and mannerisms. We visited the temple and experienced blessings of Mother. Very nice environment and able to meditate .It was our first visit to Velanganni and felt to visit few more time.

This small highly visited pilgrim centre, is not a tourist...

This small highly visited pilgrim centre, is not a tourist attraction. It is primarily for a religious trip, to thank the Velankani healing mother, for favors received or to seek blessings. The church has a number of shrines, for different needs, in addition to continuous services in different languages from 6AM to 10 PM, in the Church extension. Main Church has only ine service in tamil at 6AM. The small beach is not a tourist beach, only usefull for walking. The Bus stand close to the Church has very convenient long distance buses to many cities of Tamil Nadu and outside. Though the city is small, it is very dirty, roads and beach area, heavily littered. The Church receives humungus offerings and donation, but is Not bothered to ensure cleanliness of this highly visited Pilgrim Centre

The Basilica is well maintained, but the people are totally...

The Basilica is well maintained, but the people are totally creating a mess of the place. They have made the surroundings absolutely a marketplace, with each and everything commercialised. The holiness of the place is affected due to huge markets created around. The beach is absolutely dirty due to sales of various eatables around, with all the garbage getting into the ocean, it is absolutely unhygienic and not maintained. Being one of major pilgrim place in India, with miraculous healing power of the Our Lady of Velankanni, it needs a lot more maintenance and cleaning.

I went there for religious purpose and it was beyond my...

I went there for religious purpose and it was beyond my expectations. However, in terms of cleanliness the city isn't known for that and the beggars can be a nuisance. In terms of safety, we were out up to 22:00 hours without any worries. Need to bargain before purchasing.

Holy place. Good to attend mass at Main/Old church.

Holy place. Good to attend mass at Main/Old church. Three more churches are there around. Must to visit Mother Mary's pond. Eateries are there around the place. Dravidar, Saravanas, Sea gate are good ones to get in.
