Hotel Paradiso delle Madonie, Castelbuono, 5/5 Small hotel, big impression. The rooms are well equipped, spotlessly clean, and come with a balcony. Nothing to fault on that front. The location is genuinely excellent. Two minutes on foot to the centre and the main sites, decent shops nearby, and a supermarket almost on the doorstep. Close enough to everything without being in the thick of it. We were the only guests during our stay, which meant the couple who own and run the hotel gave us their full attention. They clearly take real pride in the place and couldn't do enough for you throughout. The owner's wife doesn't speak English but that was never an issue, communication was easy and warm throughout. Breakfast was great. Castelbuono itself is a brilliant base. Cefalù and the surrounding area are all easily accessible, so if you're exploring that part of Sicily this is a very strong choice for where to stay. Highly recommended, and worth seeking out specifically rather than settling for whatever comes up first in a search.

Great apartment! Easy communication with the host. Castelbuono is such a cute little town in countryside Italy and this property is perfect if you want to slow down, lay back and, when you feel like it, head to Cefalu to enjoy the day.

The property is a classic apartment for the area. It is very close to the old town center but around the corner, so you get the peace of a neighborhood and can walk two minutes to the main square. The property has a large and private back veranda which overlooks a big green valley. It’s perfect for sitting, reading, laundry. I loved this place! The kitchen has what you need to prepare basic meals. Everything was very clean.

The view is breathtaking. The host is great, very responsive and hospitable. The apartment was comfortable, big and clean. Very peaceful and around 10 minutes by car away from the nearby village of Castelbuono which we loved so much. Breakfast with a beautiful view, weather permitting.

Castelbuono is a beautiful midieval town with the best food that I have had during my travels in Sicily. Beautiful mountain scenery and very laid back. It is not on the main tourist trail which makes it even more special.

Lovely little town, with loads of places to eat and drink.

Lovely little town, with loads of places to eat and drink. Close to Cefalu, but far away enough to not attract many tourists. It felt like a very authentic experience, where the waiters at the restaurant knew everyone who came in to eat, and the guests seemed to be old friends. Juts lovely atmosphere overall.

As a small town Castelbuono is very typical of a Sicilian town. Lots of narrow winding roads, steep cobblestone narrow roads. Food is excellent and prices are reasonable. The only criticism we have is that people are allowed to smoke in restaurants that are open air but in reality canopied so you get free second hand smoke!

It's a perfect small and authentic town, that can be used a base for exploring the surroundings. Away from the crowds, yet very close to the places of interest as Madonie park and other cities, as Polizzi Generosa and Cefalu or other costal places. Suitable for those who enjoy true local experiences and tranquility,

The roads in Sicily are not good at the best of times and...

The roads in Sicily are not good at the best of times and are currently overrun with tourists, so driving to any of the nearby walks was fairly off putting, though doable. The town itself is quite interesting and friendly with a variety of eating places with local specialities, as well as shops for buying fresh fruit, vegetables and cheese. We ate very well and enjoyed the mountain walks we did in the nearby parco del natura and especially the views, birds and wildflowers. Parking on the edge of town and then walking is far preferable to navigating the busy, narrow streets.

Had lunch at Pizzeria San Paolo a couple times. Very good. Had dinner at Vecchio Palmento twice. Very good. Being a photographer, I loved just walking around town and going inside the many churches. Explored the castle. Get up early and get ahead of the donkey's picking up trash in the historic area. I would definitely return to explore more. Host was excellent and very helpful. Map of town really helped.

We loved our stay at Casa Giulia, it's well maintained with a picturesque garden. Signora Graziella is gracious, generous and very helpful. Casa Giulia was perfect for our needs. Its location is excellent, only a short walk from Castelbuono's Piazza Margherita, where you will find lots of shops and fabulous restaurants. We will definitely be returning to Casa Giulia. A little gem, a true find!!!!

Everything about this converted convent is delightful with ine notable exception: the road leading up to it from Castelbuono is quite possibly the worst I have ever encountered anywhere in Italy. Absolutely shocking. Unless you crawl up at a snail’s pace you risk causing severe damage to your car’s suspension. I suggest a little investment in road repairs would prove money well spent.

Such a great place. Beautiful town and very helpful owner who made sure I had everything I could possibly need. Quiet at night. And honestly the best breakfast I've had in Sicily. Such an array of food all beautifully presented on the lovely upper terrace. I was walking so it was much appreciated. Thank you

Stunning location. You can sit out on the veranda and see breathtaking views of the valley and mountains. Our hosts (Mother and Son) were absolutely lovely people. A tiny bit outside Castelbuono but so glad we chose to stay here.
