NetherlandsThe place is placed just in the center yet the view and environment makes you feel like you are in a retreat. Staff was very professional, helpful, always with a smile, always offering help. I am sorry i booked it only for 1 night! If i knew the place was so good i would book at least 2-3 days. Everything was super clean and i’m very picky and detailed guest! But i could not find one thing to criticize! The bed was very comfy. They had 2 hard 2 soft pillows. I am definitely coming back!:)

United StatesThis is an adorable little apartment in the heart of Orvieto’s historic district. Every detail has been thought through with small gifts of food and toiletries. I especially loved the dish soap attached to the wall with velcro in the kitchenette. The bedrooms are good-sized and the small kitchen is very efficient. Three small chairs are set up in front of the building among the plants and flowers - it is delightful to just sit there and chat.

A beautiful walled city/town right on the Tuscany/ Umbrian...
A beautiful walled city/town right on the Tuscany/ Umbrian border. Excellent location to access key areas of Tuscany and Umbria. Busy little town with good food and fantastic views over the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside. Tourists disappear at 5pm and the locals come out. Hotel has great food at reasonable prices with private (free) parking.
DO NOT BRING A BIG CAR if you want to stay off the central streets inside the city walls! The entrances through the walls and some of the streets are VERY narrow with VERY limited parking.

This is a pristine, extremely well preserved, maintained, and restored medieval hill town with a strong and dedicated local community. Despite its small size Citta della Pieve champions the arts and culture (art classes, library, performances). There is clearly money here. Every facade and street is immaculate. The people are happy. Really Italian happy. There is zero crime. the restaurants, cafes and bars are better than cities 10x its size, yet the prices are low. Views and countryside are pristine. Access is excellent just off the A1.

We loved the friendliness of the locals during passeggiata, the quiet atmosphere and the cleanliness of the town. It was the perfect short break in a beautiful Italian small town! We ate pizza at 320 Gradi one night (delicious!) and had breakfast at our accommodation (also delicious and lots of variety). We were particularly impressed by one staff member at Caffe' degli artisti who offered to mix us up a cooling beverage on a very hot afternoon - what he concocted perfectly hit the spot as did his attitude! It was also well placed for visiting other towns in the area - Panicale, Castiglione del Lago, Chuisi, Cortona, Arezzo.

Abbiamo scelto di soggiornare presso la Casa delle Ortensie in occasione di una breve vacanza in Umbria. La posizione è ideale per raggiungere diversi luoghi di interesse storico e culturale. I padroni di casa sono gentilissimi; gli ambienti accoglienti e puliti. Si ha a disposizione l'intero appartamento; i letti sono comodi e la cucina fornita di tutto l'occorrente. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è ottimo. Ottima soluzione per soggiorni con famiglia.

A beautiful, charming and almost perfectly clean B&B with a good restaurant (especially the "dolci" are very tasty) and all this with a beautiful view, in the picturesque medieval village of Città delle Pieve on the border between Tuscany and Umbria. However, there are some minor negatives. (my score: 8.5/10)

The Villa’s location was perfect for attending our Son’s Wedding nearby. Beautiful views over Umbria and into Tuscany. The owners Beatrice and Paola were great hosts, gave us a great Tour of the Farm (vineyards) . Purchased Wine and olive oil from them, wonderful. Villa was clean and comfortable.
