The unobstructed view from our balcony out across the southwestern end of Lake Maggiore was beautiful. We also enjoyed the breakfast of fresh pastries and other European fare. Natalino, who co-owns this historic family villa with his brother, was such an interesting person who seemed to take delight in sharing with me (in English) the history of the Villa pre–WW I, the tragic role it played in WW ll, and how his family eventually became the owners of it. Our conversation was a highlight, along with the stunning lake view, of our visit here.

What a gorgeous escape and magical place, tucked away on an Italian island. The ferry was fun, even in the rain, and it was a great adventure with my parents, who have stayed here a few times. I paid less than they did, so they had a fantastic corner view of the lake room, which I recommend. My room was comfortable, clean, and private, and the bathroom was spacious, unlike others I encountered during my trip. I truly enjoyed the three nights here, and the local shops/kiosks and meandering streets/paths are delightful. The restaurant at the hotel is a gem: our fish dishes were so yummy, and the service was good. This is perfect for a special occasion. +I wanted to buy and eat everything!

We had such an amazing and the most pleasant experience! It was so wonderful that we decided to extend our stay - that's how much we enjoyed it! This hotel is an absolute gem - great location, in the centrum of tiny Angera on the Lake Maggiore - wonderful views all day long, especially from rooftop terras of the breakfast restaurant. Just magnificent! Very clean, comfortable room, great bed and shower. There is also an award worthy restaurant that serves the most delicious food ever - I warmly recommend it to everyone. Furthermore, the staff of the hotel as well as the staff of the restaurant is incredible, they do their absolute best to make you feel welcome, comfortable and all-around pampered. Hotel offers free use of bicycles - convenient and such a lovely experience to leisurely bike around town and the lake. If you are coming by car - there are plenty of spaces to park in front - some free and some with extra charge. All in all - superb!

Gorgeous hotel, stunning location on the lake, my room had a balcony which I used everyday, roof deck was great for breakfast and aperitivo. But the highlight was the service - very charming and attentive and helpful hospitality from the owners and all of their staff.

Hotel Sciattolo in Massino Visconti truly felt like our home away from home. We received a very friendly and warm welcome, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. The breakfast was wonderful and the perfect start before our excursions to Arona, Stresa, Milan, Lago d’Orta, and Madonna del Sasso. We left with beautiful memories and would gladly return.

You're never sure what you've booked until you arrive.

You're never sure what you've booked until you arrive. I was more than pleased when I entered the property. Relaxing and stress free which meant I could concentrate on the purpose of my visit to the area (business). Even after I had to change my travel arrangements when I was at the property the hosts were understanding, positive and offered all the support they could. Will be recommending to friends and I will return.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the hotel has a noticeable musty odor as soon as you enter. The room was clean but felt quite dated, and the decor could definitely benefit from a remodel. While the room itself was in decent shape, it has a rundown feel. This hotel is adequate for a short stay, especially if you're just looking for a place to sleep for the night. However, it may not be the best option if you're planning to spend a lot of time in the room or looking for more modern amenities

The hotel is old style, one could say requires renovation, but definitely clean. Bed was comfortable, good breakfast. They also have a good restaurant nearby, which is worth to visit! Enjoyed a little pool.
