Luca, our host, was very helpful and responsive. The apartment had full kitchen and washer/dryer which was very helpful. Great location. Short walk to Duomo and restaurants. 30 second walk to 389 bus into Palermo center. Very cheap and convenient.

The property was on the outskirts of Monreale and very quiet. Parking was available on site and the owners were very gracious hosts. Our room was very comfortable with a balcony that looked out across the valley and the ocean with Palermo in the distance.

We loved the Duomo di Monreale.

We loved the Duomo di Monreale. It was the best one we have ever seen. It was so ornate. Another ornate church was Chiesa di Gesu, in Palermo. it was over the top also. But Monreale had all the biblical scenes in it, and we enjoyed naming all that we could. Walking through the Ballard market was very interesting as well.

Its a nice town and the Cathedral is stunning. Also if you like a more quiet environment and prefer not to stay in Palermo Monreale is a very good option as it has a quick bus connection to Piazza Indipendenza.

The Duomo is exceptional and a must-see, but this is also...

The Duomo is exceptional and a must-see, but this is also the main draw-back in that very shortly after opening in the morning it is heaving with tour parties. Evenings are very pleasant as very few tourists stay there. It is also very handy for day trips to Palermo, although as the bus service seems to have been reduced since I was there 9 years previously, I ended up having to drive to the city, which is not exactly stress-free!

The cathedral is one of the finest in Sicily and is a must visit. The complex is beautiful and can be viewed from the top level of the cathedral. Exquisite embroidered vestaments and silverware, accessories and ceramics are displayed on different levels of the staircase. The village is quaint with good restaurants.

Lots to visit, but our timing was terrible and it was raining. The cathedral is a must, but we didn't arrive in time before they closed. Same with the other museums. The city is walkable and there are lots of cute restaurants. You really need a full day there to appreciate.

Monreale is a city built on the side of the mountain, so be prepared to walk up hills and stairs! The big attraction there is the Duomo in the main square which is just beautiful in the inside as the artwork is done in gold! You will have to pay an entrance fee, but it is worth it. The streets can be a bit of challenge to navigate as there are street vendors, cars, vespas, bicycles and pedestrians all trying maneuver through the narrow streets. Monreale gives you a beautiful view of Palermo and the ocean.

Palazzo Ducale suites is very close to the centre of Monreale, and everywhere is easily reached on foot. We were astonished by the beauty and majesty of the Duomo when we visited. The local cafes, bars and restaurants that we visited were all good. We travelled into Palermo by bus on two days, and the service from Monreale is reliable, cheap and fairly frequent. We paid extra for breakfast on two days, and thought it was good value.

The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Location is good to visit Monreale old town on foot without worrying about parking and driving through narrow hilly roads. It took around 15 min to go to the centre of Monreale, it is a bit of climbing but not too hard. Our car was parked inside the gate of the B&B, very safe. Breakfast was very good: there were a lot of choices and it was delicious.
