We liked everything. Beautiful, peaceful property. Rooms were tastefully decorated. Everything you need. The restaurant had one of the best meals we had on our trip through the south region of Italy. And everyone working at the property, from the owners to the crew. Everyone makes you feel at home. Very friendly, I can’t really say enough. Beautiful people, place, views.

What an amazing, fortunate and unexpected find! Driving along the coast from Puglia to Calabria we weren’t impressed by much in the seaside towns we passed along the way. Booked the Convento from the car and from the moment we turned off the road towards the charming hillside town of Calopezzati we were enchanted. The property is stunning, with incredible views, large and well appointed rooms. A complete ruin, the convent was lovingly renovated by the family in the 1970’s as their private residence, but now opened to guests — staying there feels like you’re visiting friends, not staying in a hotel. Sitting in the garden over a sumptuous breakfast or having a delicious home-cooked dinner, we felt like we stepped into a movie of Italy during the dolce vita days. And you’re steps from the very charming and completely unspoilt village, where there is only one, luckily surprisingly good, restaurant. We loved it so much we stopped for a second night on our way home to Puglia. I’m telling all my friends. It’s the best!
