Everything in the property is almost brand new and well maintained. It’s a great location to be out of the big city but still have walking distance to buy food at the stores and small shops near by. The attention from the staff was great too and very welcoming.

Can't say much about it, really, because our main goal was skiing, so we spent most of the time in Kronplatz, which is just 10 min away by train (station Percha). But we find time for a walk in Villabassa center and also had a great dinner at Emma restaurant (if I remember correctly the name), Overall, it's a quite clean town, which should be even nicer in the warmer periods of the year.

A small what seemed to be more local town, which I liked. Only a handful of restaurants with unpredictable hours as google was sometimes wrong. Not a reason to not stay here though, really enjoyed the town and the lack of tourists.

Villabassa/Niederdorf is a village on the border between...

Villabassa/Niederdorf is a village on the border between Italy and Austria so like all the locations in the valley it has an Italian (Villabassa) and Austrian (Niederdorf) name which can be slightly confusing at first. Although not a large place it boast three good restaurants and two small supermarkets so there is a good choice when it comes to food. The restaurant of the Hotel Adler provided our best meal, but was also the most expensive. It is worth booking restaurants. While Villabassa is quiet and peaceful it also has clean, frequent and punctual train and bus links to the other towns in the valley. While we were lucky and had a free travel pass from our accommodation the fares are not expensive (around 2 euros). This allows easy access to towns like Dobbiaco and San Candido which have more extensive retail opportunities should you require them, and to scenic splendors like the ski lifts to Monte Elmo and the shuttle to Tre Cime Di Laveredo. We visited for four nights in June and were lucky to have fine weather.

This hotel is in a great location with a beautiful restaurant and pub attached. The rooms very small but very comfortable and the beds were very comfy. Bathroom and shower great. The buffet breakfast was fantastic. Would highly recommend!

A little gem! Nice hotel in a wonderful surroundings. Great facilities. Staff super friendly, they gave us a lot of great tips for walks and hikes. Everyone is very smiley and attentive. Very close to the bus stop.
