Very cozy room, compact but bathroom was good size. Comfortable bed and pillows. It had been very cold at night and I was supprised to see electric heaters in the room which I did use. Never stayed in a place in Laos with heaters. Was there only one night but very helpful staff, like everywhere in Laos. It's like old style wood Lao houses but contemporary inside. Very large swimming pool which I didn't get to use. The owner, Henery was there to greet me on arrival, maybe just a coninsidence? He also showed up in the morning at breakfast. Very hands on personal touch by the owner.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing! Many varieties from fresh fruits, sandwiches, fried rice, stir fry, pancakes etc. Location was great, about 15 min walk from market and Phousi Temple. Away from the road so there’s no traffic noise. Nice and clean pool and comfortable beds. Also provides very affordable laundry service.

My family and I loved our accommodations at Pha Nya Residence. This place is gorgeous, very unique! The owners did a wonderful job and are very hands-on. The rooms were spacious. And the staff, just amazing and very welcoming. They are knowledgeable about the area and all that it has to offer. We had last minute guest join, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were all comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you're in doubt, don't be. Book asap! Hopefully, we'll be back again to visit.

Been there many times but significant changes since I last visited. Too many tourist and becoming very BACKPACKERISH. The Kunming rail link doing more harm than good ... another delightful, quaint and sleepy destination lost.

Time honoured traditions, the wonderful mantras and cbants...

Time honoured traditions, the wonderful mantras and cbants were so healing. Make sure you are up early to observe alms giving to monks, and folks respect time honoured traditions. Go across on ferry to other side of river, lovely over there also. And if you can go to Vientiane and visit Vang Vienne and climb up to cave well worth the effort

Lovely little town, lovely people, good food, beautiful architecture, pleasant excursions, and extremely relaxed especially in low season (now May). You can have a hotel to yourself. If you want to relax for a few days or weeks and have a beer overlooking the Mekong, come. I was also here for Lao New Year, which was manic for three days, so quite the contrast

I stayed in Luang Prabang for one week with my family, and it was a truly peaceful and refreshing getaway. If you enjoy nature, a quiet lifestyle, and scenic surroundings, this destination is an excellent choice. The city is beautifully set along rivers, with lush trees and surrounding mountains that create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Life here moves at a slower pace, making it ideal for anyone looking to unwind and disconnect from a busy routine. As a UNESCO World Heritage city, Luang Prabang offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural charm. The combination of river views, greenery, and traditional architecture makes it feel both serene and culturally rich. Overall, Luang Prabang is a great destination for families or travelers seeking peace, nature, and a meaningful escape to recharge.

Luang Prabang feels very calm and zen, even more so than Vientiane, with a small village-like atmosphere. The town is easy to explore, with most places close together and many one-way roads that are generally easy to navigate, though lighting can be quite poor at night and helmet use seems rare. Despite that, it still feels safe and relaxed to walk or cycle around. The night market is a major highlight and noticeably better than the one in Vientiane. For food, there are plenty of simple local dishes around the market, and it’s worth trying different street stalls. If you want a good restaurant, I’d highly recommend Belle Rive Terrace, where you can watch the sunset and where I had one of the best green curries of the trip. Sunset watching is a very common and enjoyable activity here. One of the most memorable experiences is the alms giving in the early morning around 05:30 to 06:30 near the night market area, which is very unique and quiet. Overall, Laos, and in particular Luang Prabang, has a very peaceful, slow-paced charm. For activities, Kuang Si Waterfalls is a must, and climbing Phousi Mountain offers a great view over the city, especially at sunset. A small tip, educate yourself properly on how to get to the waterfalls and how transport pricing works beforehand, so you avoid overpaying or getting caught in tourist markups. For young couples, it’s a great place to slow down, explore by bicycle, visit waterfalls, and enjoy the night market together at a relaxed pace. Getting around is fairly easy. Tuk-tuks are widely available, but it’s worth negotiating or sharing rides, as prices can vary a lot. Also, the airport is very close to the city, so there’s no need to arrive excessively early. Overall, it’s a peaceful and beautiful destination with a lot of charm, best enjoyed without rushing.

Nice quiet town, mostly with cultural activities. There are nice natural sights to see outside of the town, especially the Kuang Si waterfall. In all honesty nothing is really spectacular, Laos in general is nice to visit if you are in the region but I don’t think it’s exciting enough to specifically travel all the way for.

The location of the Meunna Boutique Hotel is great - it is a short distance to great tourist sites and great restaurants. The beds were extremely comfy, the shower was a fantastic pressure and temperature, and the rooms were a great size. Chong, the manager, is very helpful. He helped us organise a trip to the waterfalls, washed our laundry, and booked our taxi to the airport after check-out. He's a great guy! I would recommend this very good "value for money" hotel to any visitors to Luang Prabang.

Good location, walking distance to everything in Luang Prabang. Hotel was clean and welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch. We were also given map of the sights with an explanation on where to go and what times. Air con and fan in the room were essential. Bed was extremely comfortable. Mr Steve was a gent and allowed us a late check out before our flight! Great place to stay would highly recommend :)

Fantstic location of the hotel with view of the Mekong river from the balcony. It is walking distance to all the popular sights of Luang Prabang including the riverside park. The room is clean and comfortable. Coffee is available 24/7 and staff are friendly even though they speak no english. They communicate promptly using translation app and even helped me book the minivan back to train station.

It is quiet and tranquil by day but neighbourhood dogs bark a lot at night so best to bring good silicone earplugs. The breakfast is very good indeed. The garden and pool are lovely. The staff speak good English and are very attentive and polite. The facilities are good and overall the hotel is 5 star!

Location great, the pool is small and rarely used is my guess. This is not a grand resort with usable pool. The hotel was quiet and is located on a quiet street, and that is hard to find in Luang prabang, as most areas are noisy and hotels have little sound insulation.
