La Gaulette is a good place to discouver the south of...
La Gaulette is a good place to discouver the south of Mauritius, specially if you want to enjoy Le Morne beach, climb Le Morne or visit other nice beaches like St. Felix or La Praire or Bel Ombre. There are some shops (including a big supermarket).

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius.
Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common.
Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.

An ideal place to visit La Morne and surrounding areas without the crowds. Nearby supermarket for groceries and restaurants. We had a car which made travelling around easier and i would reccommend getting one when coming to Mauritius as you see so much more

Close to Le Morne and other attractions and places worth visiting, 90 min drive to Port Louis. Island is a paradise for botanical enthusiasts, hikers, climbers, fans of all sorts of water sports and beautiful reef fish, encounters with whales, dolphins etc.very friendly lovely locals and I felt very safe at all times, safer than in European many places. Please do book with local people, not all inclusive international resorts without local feel.

The clearest seewater I have seen on the hole island!
The surounding with the mountains are great.
The beach is clean. No waist is liing around.
Kite surfing ist also the place to be!
Restaurant Chalets Chamarel has a great view. Hard to find. Food to expensive and not good!!

Bianca the owner welcomed us in the nicest way. The apartment was really good, very clean, there was everything we needed for cooking. The view from the balcony was amazing, beautiful sunsets.
Bianca was very available for us on whattsapp and was super helpful!
Le morne public beach is only 10 minuts by car.
There are supermarkets a few minutes away, And local resteurantes in a walking distance.
If you are looking for an apartment in a quiet erea which you can go from to see mauritius atractions, this is the best!
Great value for money.

Kevin is a great host, very friendly and helpful. He gave us great tips what to see and where to eat. The studio is very nice and modern. They provide cleaning every day and they also have a secure private parking. They made our stay very nice. Great location to explore southern/west Mauritius, close to Le Morne, Grand River national park, Chamarel waterfall,... I highly recommend this accommodation.

The apartment had great views of the sunset and La Morne from the balcony. The offroad parking was really helpful given that we were driving around the island. Although we spent most of the day outside, the pool was a great feature of the apartment. The location is good and within 6 to 7 minutes walk of La Gaulette.

Perfection. There is everything you need, fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, wash machine, carpark, private swimming pool and outdoor area. The owner is lovely and very helpful. Close to shops, restaurants, and 10 mins drive from the most famous beach in Mauritius. I cannot recommend it enough.
