Staff in Horizon have been very helpful throughout our stay. Dhaain welcomed us with a detailed guide of Dhigurah, so that we knew where to eat, where to snorkel, how to reach the sandbank, etc. They created a whatsapp group upfront so communication was super smooth and they were very responsive. They connected us with Oceanholic Divers so we could arrange dives. They helped arrange speedboats and bike rentals. They even helped us called the other hotel to cancel our massage appointment due to scheduled change. You could trust them to make your stay smooth and enjoyable. The room was brilliant! It's on the ground floor and at the corner. It's very cozy, clean and spacious and every time we returned from a day of activities it just felt like home. The bathroom is very spacious so it's easy for us to separate dry-and-wet zones, and for us to rinse our swim gears. Horizon is conveniently located near the pier (just <5 mins walk) so we like it very much as we could return to our room and took shower fairly quickly after the morning dives. It's far from the bikini beach so it is quiet and relaxing. Walking to the bikini beach area takes around 30-40 mins, so I would recommend renting a bike so you can quickly access the bikini beach, Turtle Reef, and most importantly, the famous sandbank. Breakfast tastes great! They have Maldivian style and continental for you to choose, and they can make take-away breakfast if you need to go for diving early morning. Staff in Horizon is super friendly! We love hearing their personal stories and learning their culture. It has been a truly memorable stay and I would highly recommend Horizon to those who come to Dhigurah!

Staff very friendly everyone from the cleaning staff to the front of house staff. It was great to see filtered water in glass bottles was used instead of bottled as better choice. Everyone was happy to chat and always helpful. It’s a new hotel and it is modern and very clean. Everyone takes pride in giving guests a great welcome. They arranged for us to hire a scooter to get a better look around the island. They also arranged the speedboat transfers and collected and dropped our bags at the jetty.

Dhigurah is a nice local island.

Dhigurah is a nice local island. There are many good restaurants and small supermarkets. Outside of the village there are many public (bikini) beaches and there's a beautiful path to the sandbank that runs along the jungle. We highly tecommend renting a scooter for more flexibility.

Oasis Dhigurah proves that luxury is not about gold faucets or grand lobbies—it is about thoughtful design, comfort, and people who truly care. Every corner of the property felt beautifully curated, and the staff responded so quickly that communicating with them sometimes felt like texting a friend. The island also offered the kind of once-in-a-lifetime moments that cannot be planned. For a brief time, it felt as though a whale shark and I had the ocean to ourselves. The only problem with this hotel is that it quietly raises your expectations for every hotel that comes after it.

There are no beach services on the island.

There are no beach services on the island. Where you can swim in a swimsuit (about 35 minutes walk from the nearest hotel) there are no services such as the possibility of buying fruit or water. We could only buy coconuts in one place on the entire island and even that was small and expensive. You can't pay by card almost anywhere except hotels and expensive restaurants. The island has beautiful natural beauty, but it is a mess and there is garbage everywhere. We have been to another island and were disappointed with Dhigurah.

This is a beautiful island with convenient speed boat access...

This is a beautiful island with convenient speed boat access from Male and the Airport. The long (3 kms) beach stretching southwest is fabulous. One reason for staying might be the whale shark excursions...just note that you will not be alone. Even if you have only two people on your boat, you will be joined by 30+ other boats, some with dozens on, and the ensuing pursuit of the poor fish turns into a melee of waving go-pro sticks, thrashing limbs and churned up detritus. Arguably not worth it? But the nearby "regular" reef snorkeling is some of the best I've experienced. Also, there are at least twenty half-completed hotels, so prepare for over-tourism on steroids in the coming years, which seems to be what Maldives is hurtling towards.

The island is basically a picture perfect paradise island...

The island is basically a picture perfect paradise island from the pictures - the coast is one continuous beach, with lots of rest areas, cafes, and shops. The island is walkable in a couple hours and comes alive after sunset when it cools down.

The Island definitely offers the wild vibe that's known for...

The Island definitely offers the wild vibe that's known for and it has still many pristine sights that are secluded and surrounded by lush vegetation and powder white sand washed by the purest turquoise waters. Turtle beach still lives up with its name, you will find some healthy corals and plenty of sea life. Nonetheless, overtourism is starting to show its signs, the island has seen a lot of construction in the past year and it's sad to think that it could become the next Mafushi one day. They need to stop infesting the place with new guesthouses and that will sort overcrowding, litter and natural deterioration issues.
